A/N: Hello again! Remember me? Probably not. Oh well. I was co-writer with LadyDragonsbane. I was one to write the Escaflowne stories. It's been a while, yes. Now I have my own account. Decided to write again. Hopefully, my skill has gotten much better. -

Story: This will be a series of chapters. Not sure on how many there will be exactly, but possibly quite a few. That is if people like it and want it continued. Anyways, this story does not take place during or after the series at all. It is one of my own accord. As of right now, Zaibach and Fanelia are coming to terms and decided on making a treaty. Dilandau is caught in the middle and has been asked his opinion on the matter. A new sorcerer has taken lead and runs the Floating Fortress now. Nothing is really known about him but you'll find out later. :) Anyways, enjoy what there is. I'm only writing a bit to get a few reviews and possibly people wanting more. - (Hopefully, that includes you who is reading this right now. lol)

Disclaimer: I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE CHARACTERS OF ESCAFLOWNE. Thank you. :)

Chapter One

"Did you notice how Lord Dilandau had acted during briefing?"

"I saw it too. Seems there has to be something on his mind."

"Maybe another bad night with a girl?" Dallet chuckled as he walked the steel gray platform of the catwalk.

The two others chuckled slightly, but returned to their duties after a long moment.

"What-? I was only joking."

Dilandau Albatou paced the throne room of the Floating Fortress. His knee high steel-toed boots clanking with each step, Dilandau mumbled unaudiably to himself.

"Sir, if I may help?" A stuttered voice asked.

"Leave me be!" Dilandau turned to the young man furious. He rushed to the table next to the throne, picking up a last bottle of Vino he had recently devoured, and threw it angrily. "Get out!"

The young man hurriedly left the room and closed the door shut behind him.

"Imbecile." Dilandau mumured.

The throne room door slid open and a tall man stepped into the dark.

"What is it!"

"Do not fret over such a small matter. It is really up to Zaibach to decide, not yourself." A calm, cool voice stated.

"Yet, it is I who have been asked for an opinion!" He turned frustrated. "Why is it that I must put in an opinion for a treaty that shouldn't be done! They're enemies. All of the Fanelians are!"

"Calm your anger Lord Dilandau." The tall man stepped into the sunlight revealing a tinge of green hair, short yet spiked on top. He wore the Sorcerers robe around him and bore the Zaibach emblem at one side. "They only want your say. And besides, Fanelia is a good military base for food and shelter. It'll be good to have Fanelia on our side. For the time being that is."

"So, in other words, we use Fanelia to our advantage then devour the city in flames?" Dilandau's eyes lit up at the thought. He grinned eagerly to himself.

The man chuckled at Dilandau's hopeful smile and stepped forward more slightly. "In a way, yes, but do not mention this to others. It'll cause rumors to spread along with the treaty."

"Ah, yes. Fine. You have my word. It will not be spoken of again." Dilandau said with a short sigh of disgust. He slumped down in the throne room chair, lifting his legs to rest on the left arm of the chair. The man remained in his position and watched Dilandau get comfortable.

"I've also come to tell you of some other news you would need to know."
