Hit, Miss and Repeat
AN: The pronouns for the Guardians are going to be 'they' and 'them'. I'd prefer to give readers their own interpretation of who they are and what race they are.
The battle was finally over, after the fall of two Cabal brothers, there was only silence and deafening sound of dropped weapons, clattered to the floor. A single armored and hooded Guardian flopped on the ground, sighing in defeat.
"Ugh, finally" the said Guardian groaned, "I thought this mission won't end..."
"Ah, don't be such a downer, Hunter." Another voice cracked through the Hunter's comm, "We survived and that's a fact!"
"If you count on having us reviving you every single time you punch someone in their face surviving..." Another voice, melodic but stern rang through the comm.
"Eeeh, you know how we Titans are, if the enemies bleed, we punch them. At least we don't miss, unlike you Warlocks do."
If the Warlock had the strength to strangle the Titan, they would, but decided against it. Hunter watched in amusement as the Warlock Guardian shook, hands gripping tightly, wanting to punch the offending Titan, who was standing next to them, as if smug to the fact that they were right.
To be honest, the Titan was right, when the Warlock was about to do their Nova Bomb. The results would either end up the Warlock miscalculating the spot or just down right miss the targets. It was a funny sight to behold, seeing Warlock throwing some colorful words whenever they missed the target.
"Doesn't give you the right excuse to punch the Brothers when they were about to do their finishing blow..." Warlock sighed, summoning out their ghost.
"Well tell that to the Hunter who kept on playing tag with them!"
"Please don't drag me into this." Hunter sighed, "Be glad that their attention was on me while you two were shooting at them."
"Right. Baiting..." Titan muttered, picking up some engrams that the Fireteam had found from the fallen Brothers. They were all glowing blue, Titan guessed that Master Rahool would be dancing happy tonight.
Hunter snorted, "It's not baiting, it's called a distraction."
"Suuuure..." Titan drawled, "calling them a 'big, fugly, fish-eye' is a good distraction."
"Says the Titan who punches at everything."
"Touché."
"A-hem." Both Hunter and Titan looked over at the source of the sound, where the Warlock had their ship out and ready, "Are you two just gonna stay here and fight the endless horde of Hives, or go to a new Strike?"
"Oooh, I do! I do! I want to go to a new Strike!" Titan cheered as they summoned their Ghost, "What's the next one?"
"I received a call from Petra, sending us the bounty to defeat the Arkon Priest."
"Sure...I haven't done some Fallen Hunt for a long time." Hunter replied as they picked themselves off the ground, summoning their ghosts as well.
Warlock nodded their head, "It's decided then. Let's go to our next one. Hopefully, I'll get some parts to add some upgrades to my Rocket Launcher."
"And next time, Warlock, don't miss your target!" Titan laughed as they dodged Warlock's on coming punches at them.
"Don't punch either." Hunter replied, "I'd rather not have a repeat of you dying every single time an Enemy kill you."
"Touché."
