This takes place after Attic Treasures F.Y.I. Enjoy)

Thibaut's apology

By LivingOnLaughs

He cried a little as his mom held his small hand. They had new neighbors and it was proper manners to greet them like civilized people. According to his dad, the new neighbors had a kid around Thibaut's age: around six to seven.

The Jones openly introduced themselves to their neighbors. "I'm Gregory; this is my wife, Betty and our son Thibaut." Mr. Jones explained to his new neighbor. "Pleased to meet you. I'm Leonard Carlin and this is my wife Danielle and our daughter, Marcie." Mr. Carlin replied as his daughter hid behind his legs.

"I should've known." Thibaut told himself as he walked into the house. Mrs. Jones looked at Danielle before speaking up, "Thibaut isn't the best at socializing with the opposite gender. When I was his age, I couldn't do what I had my heart set at: writing. I work at the burger joint flipping patties." Betty explained. Mrs. Carlin looked at her new neighbor before replying, "Don't feel bad. I was able to get a job designing highways. I've always wanted to do that and my little Cie-Cie wants to be a teacher when she's older but I won't stop her. I just want the best for her, right, Cie-Cie. Cie-Cie? Where are you?" Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Carlin didn't notice the bespectacled girl race into Thibaut's house and into his room. He was still crying and he looked horrible. There was even a small scar from when she belted him across the chops when she was four.

"Thibaut, are you alright?" she asked in concern as she sat on his bed. "No. I'm sorry for how mean I acted towards you all those years ago…you seem like a really smart girl and don't let what I said-or what anyone else says-get to you. I've been there and it hurts. Friends?" he asked as he held out his hand to her. Marcie looked at his sign of friendship before accepting it. "Friends." She replied, shaking his hand.

The two kids spent the rest of the day talking together and getting to know the other side of Thibaut, knowing that this was the start of a new friendship.
