Kssso I own nothing. Script from the episode "Follow the Leader". My take on why Jules was yelling so much for Sam, and why Sam shielded Jules from the debris. Alright enjoy! "Sam you did everything you could you pull back now!" Jules yelled. "NOW Sam!" she screamed sternly.
"10 seconds!" Spike calls.
"Sam" Jules pleads.
"Your brother needs you too" Sam says to the subject Trent.
"Sam!" Greg yells.
"7, 6..." Spike counts down until the bomb goes off.
"Sam!" Jules calls again.
"Come on Trent," Sam pleads as he turns to run for cover.
"Come on!" Jules yells.
"4, 3, 2..." Spike continues.
Sam turns and runs for Sarge Spike Jules and Trent's brother who are facing a wall covering their heads in the corner.
The way Sam pulled Jules around her waist underneath him, so that she is in-between him and the wall. How he is shielding her, shows her he still cares enough to take care of her.
The way she was pleading for him to get to a safe place could just mean she didn't want to lose someone after Lou. But the way she slapped his arm with a "how stupid are you, you run for cover when your team tells you to" look suggests she cares for his safety too.
So he thought. If he were right maybe she would have told Steve right off from the beginning. He truly had lost his chance with her and he hated it.
