It was just a jar. It sat in the back corner of the counter, always, upright, cap screwed on tight, nothing resting on top of it, none of its sticky contents oozing from within. It was immune to the chaos of toothpaste, and brushes, and deodorant that was strewn, haphazardly across the same surface, sitting alone but not lonely, unaffected. Most days, its presence went unnoticed because it wasn't mine and so I didn't use it. Occasionally, it would catch my eye. The harsh, fluorescent light would reflect off its crystalline, blue surface, its twin sitting equally as pristine in the mirror, simply quietly and unobtrusively reminding me of its ever presence. Its tranquil like finish of cool, frosted glass that smelled faintly of raspberries presented a misleading picture of something fresh and pure when the reality of its contents were closer to an oil slick, slimy, gooey, and thick. So thick, in fact, that is coated his hair in the way a helmet would. In a way it protected him like a helmet would too. The gel was his shield.

A/N: i wrote this for an assignment for my writing so that's why it's a little short and a little abstract. i didn't want it to be obvious that i was writing a fanfic, you know. but yeah, hope you all liked it :)
