Pax, Copiam, Sanitas, et Vita

For every action there is a reaction, a day to the night, and a 'tail' to the 'heads' of the coin. For the Horsemen, it is the same. This is the story of the mirror of he who is as old as God himself, and her sisters, who have never made themselves known. They do so now, at the turning of the tide, for better or worse. This is their tale.

She was a short woman. That was his most prominent impression of her. She could be no more than five feet tall, and her curly auburn hair annoyed him to no end.

"Hello, Death." she smiled, and her rosy cheeks rose and caused her warm gold eyes to squint.

"You. What do you want?" he twisted his cane, and the tip ground into the gritty floor of his prison.

"I just wanted to bid you farewell. After all, we're all about to be released. Lucifer seeks your favor." she considered, before correcting herself, "Well, yours and your brothers' favor. As a non-horseman I'm not really factored into the equation."

"Indeed. Yours, and your sisters' favor is not something a warmonger would seek, Life."

"Yes, we are your opposites after all. Life- me, Health, Peace, and Plenty. I do think God likes us better." she winked, and Death sighed. what insolence. She was much too… lively for someone her age.
"Really, you ought to act your age. You've existed as long as I have, and as long as God. You're above such trivial things as favoritism."

"You're too boring. You should come skydiving with me sometime," she grinned, and his eyebrow twitched.

"It is too bad I can't kill you."
"Well it would defeat my purpose, wouldn't it? Living." she sighed, and conjured a winged armchair, before dropping to sit in it dramatically.
"Though sometimes I do wonder whether surviving is my purpose. Are not all creatures meant to be happy? to be full of life? Wandering around without any sort of vitality, dead inside may as well be dead outside."

"Spare me your philosophizing."

she was suddenly standing again, and her grin was gone. "Death, though my sisters and I will not be joining you in servitude to the fallen one, know that I will help the vessels free you," she looked him in the eyes, and he inclined his head. She wasn't entirely insufferable, now that he thought of it.

Suddenly, they both shuddered. Lucifer had begun his ritual.

"I must join my sisters at the gate. We will be gone before he realizes we were here."

"I wish you luck."
