Astronomy

A short and sweet one-shot as Draco observes Ginny from a distance.

Astronomy compels the soul to look upwards and leads us from this world to another

She's so close he can almost taste the sweet fragrance of her skin as it wafts towards him in the cool summer's breeze. He studies her figure, examining with sheer focus the way in which her body smoothly bends and twists with ease, as she manoeuvres her broom around the goal posts.

His eyes rest upon her slender shoulders; the way in which her hair flows majestically in the wind, so similar to the wings of a phoenix in it's prime, like flames dancing in the air, so beautiful.

He decides there and then that she is like Astronomy. Her beauty is only matched to the twinkling sky at night, the blooming numbers of thousand and thousands of glistening stars; she is the distant glitter of a far away planet, the shining aura of a shooting star.

Her eyes flutter in his direction and for a split second, he thinks her gaze rests upon him, and somewhere in the distance, a shooting stars falls close to the Astronomy tower.
