AN: It's been a LONG time since I've written anything. Maybe 4 years? I've really gotten into the Vampire Diaries and thought I would try writing my own fan fiction. I'm currently planning a 3 part story. It's basically me trying to make sense of certain situations, but it's almost AU. I'm excited for it! I wish there was a place where I could discuss the story, I'd love to get some help on it. So if anyone knows of a place where people talk about their Vampire Diaries fan fiction in the works, let me know!
I'm carefully watching The Originals, because the second part of my story takes place there. I'm a Klaroline shipper so I was tempted to throw things at the screen during the third episode. This is kind of what I only wish could happen.
I had to add that this is NOT my big story. Just consider this a one shot for now.
This snippet will be edited to fit into the second part of my story. I don't want to give away much, but I will say that Caroline and Klaus have a history. At this point, Caroline's kind of given in to the darkness...but I guess it won't make much sense 'til I get to that part in my story. I'm just posting this because I was so upset by the Cami in white thing! Hope you enjoy. It will be slightly different later!
Disclaimer: I don't own the Vampire Diaries or The Originals.
"Don't be fooled, love." Klaus teased. "I'm the devil in disguise."
He felt a friendly pat on his back and heard a hearty laugh. "I'm not so sure about that, Klaus. I hear the devil wears red, and she looks sinful." Marcel said as he nodded towards the entrance.
Klaus followed Marcel's gaze, and, in that moment, his undead heart ceased to beat.
Caroline…
Of course he was surprised to see her in New Orleans - and at Marcel's charity event nonetheless. But what had him stunned in place was the undaunted air she held with her. It had been weeks since he had last seen her, and he was relieved to see her light still shining through.
But it was different somehow.
Caroline had always been inherently good, but now she was untouchable. Rose petals descended around her, as if to shield her from unwanted enemies. Or maybe they acted as her escort; for Klaus knew she needed no protection tonight. Vampires Klaus knew to be more than twice her age parted like the Red Sea as she steadily made her way into the room. It was as if she had gained some unachievable power, and everyone in the quarter seemed to know it.
Her electrifying blue eyes were hypnotizing, framed by radiant golden locks that curled and fell freely down her back. Klaus could almost taste the fullness of her cherry red lips and inwardly shivered at the bareness of her neck and shoulders as he remembered how soft and delicate they were. But he knew that tonight, in her form fitting ruby -red dress, diamond studded earrings, and matching necklace, there was nothing soft or delicate about her.
Her dangerous curves rippled as she continued to glide through the room. Heads turned as her strong chin rose and a hint of a smile accented her lips. Where once was an ethereal angel in blue, now stood a sultry devil in red.
