The Lives They Live

Façade: James Potter I

James Potter was a coward and a runner. He ran from what he really felt and he hid behind snide remarks and disdainful glances but he only really wanted her to love him. And he didn't know how to 'gain' love. All his life being loved was just a given and now Lily Evans was charging into his life with that stone cold heart of hers.

James didn't like it so he made her feel like shit. He cut her down and she took it in her stride, deflecting an insult with an insult. And that only made his façade shatter some more.

Soon there would be none left and James Potter would be stripped bare in front of the world, his life and lies and cowardice exposed to everyone.

Nothing scared him more so he ran even father into his mind, hiding in the darkest corners.

Sometimes he wished Lily would look further than the outside, look deeper into the image he presented to the world; but he knows she wouldn't – she doesn't care that much – and maybe that's what he runs from the most.

i meant to post this tuesday but i got busy in all that nothing that i spend my life doing and then i bought a book and i've only just recovered from that rollercoaster (you should totally read the unbecoming of mara dyer it's beautifully tragic and noah would get it fifty times over) so yeah sorry i'm rambling.

EDIT: this is now not a collection-y type but more just a bunch of drabbles whenever I feel like it.
