This was written by a friend of mine and she asked me to post it.
Summary: A forbidden love
A/N: There might be errors yet to discover on this fic, I will gladly accept to correct them if you tell me. I can't post this fic under my own Authors name for personal reasons.
NOTE: I shall not owe, thou shall not sue. The owner of Rohan, Arwen and Aragorn is the greatest of the great: JRR Tolkien. Anything else is copyright mine... but I won't post it, I'll let Blind Guardian (Alonsinho) take all the credit... and the tomatoes you'll throw ('Cause this is soooooo corny!)
"THE UNSPOKEN"
3 inches away he was. An invisible wall dividing them. She felt she was looking through a window at him. Such different worlds and yet the same grim world. In spite of all they smiled at each other as they walked and talked outside the city: in the fields of Rohan.
They halted then and sat on the grass. Hushing as their thoughts spoke to them and guessing each other's minds.
He spoke first, being a brave knight of the mark as he was. 'You know' he began 'You know that this is our last meeting. Many times have we parted in different ways... but it has never been the last day. Never the last meeting. Tomorrow you will ride away with him and I fear I shall not see you again'
She smiled sadly at him. 'I shall miss thee just the same' came her reply. And then she paused 'Éorem, I am not worthy of your friendship nor am I of his love'
He smiled skeptically 'I fail to see how would you not be fit or worthy of our love and friendship' said he 'But if you would, you will find me eager to know how'
She looked at him sternly, but slowly he noticed her eyes watering until two silent tears rode down her face. 'Because I love thee' she said 'And I should not: that is why I have to go. In such a short time have I come to love thee and I am afraid that if i stay a day longer I will not have the strength to overpower it. I will not have the strength to stop my love for thee. I am not going to hurt him and I am not going to leave him si I will go. Someday we shall meet each other again, but I want thee to promise that even if we will not be able to speak to each other in a long time thee will let me know where you are and how to contact thee... and if you are in trouble how to help you'
'I promise' said he. Arwen kissed his brow and smiled sadly again before she left to meet Aragorn and help him with the arrangements for their travel back to Gondor.
