Chapter 1
The Day We Meet Again
A boy with black hair and eyes, wearing a blue school uniform, sighed as he walked into his first period class ten minutes late.
"Oh, you must be Sasuke Uchiha, the new student. My name is Iruka-Sensei," stated the teacher, who had long brown hair pulled back into a ponytail and dark brown eyes, wearing black pants, a white t-shirt, and a green vest.
"Hn," the boy replied.
"Why don't you sit next to Temari?" Iruka said, pointing to a girl with her short brown hair pulled into four high ponytails.
Sasuke sat down next to the girl, and their teacher gave his class the freedom to socialize as long as they had finished all their work, as that day was one of the designated catch-up days.
"So, what do you think of the school so far?" Temari asked her tablemate.
"It's too easy of a class if the students are allowed to turn in late assignments," Sasuke sneered.
"Well, you don't credit when it's late, but you have to have it turned in, or you fail the class, as you can't complete the class portfolio."
"Hn."
"So, what are you going to do without any work to do?" Temari asked curiously after a few minutes of terse silence.
Sasuke ignored her, pulling The Awakening, a book by Kate Chopin, out of his book bag.
"Oh, I've read that, do you like it? I love the twin girls," Temari questioned when she saw the novel's title.
"It's fine," the Uchiha snapped as he opened the book to his spot to begin reading, "now would you please let me read?"
At the end of class, Sasuke took his schedule out of his binder only for Temari to snatch it out of his hands.
"You have math with Asuma-sensei next; I have that class as well, so I'll show you were it is."
"Hn."
Temari led Sasuke out of the building and to the courtyard. In the center of the courtyard was a boy with blonde hair, talking and laughing with his friends.
"N… Naruto?" Sasuke asked in shock.
"You know him?" Temari questioned.
Sasuke once again ignored the girl as he walked over and wrapped his arms around the blonde-haired person's waist.
"Hey, what the hell do you think you're doing? You can't just go and warp your arms around strangers!" a short boy with brown hair and eyes raged, his friends nodding their heads in agreement.
Sasuke ignored them just as he had been ignored Temari all morning, as did Naruto as Sasuke's hand grabbed Naruto's left hand and fingered the silver and gold ring that rested there.
"You still wear it… good," Sasuke said in his ear, in perfect hearing range of the blond kitsune's friends.
"What? You mean he gave Naruto his ring?" a girl with pink hair gasped in shock. "He treasures the thing, never takes it off…"
Naruto drowned out her talking.
"Sasuke!" he gasped as he whirled around in the new boy's arms and threw his arms around his neck.
