"Birdie!" Gilbert yelled as he ran down the hall. Matthew looked back to Gilbert and then moved to the side, letting the man run past him and straight into a wall. A thud sounded and Matthew winced at the sound.
"Gil, how many times do I have to tell you not to do that? That wall won't hold forever!" Matthew stated, walking over to Gilbert and looking down at him. Gilbert glanced up and smiled up at his lover.
"Birdie, when we get married next week, I hope you wear a dress like Arthur and Lovino did." Gilbert smiled. Matthew rolled his eyes.
"I'm amazed we lasted this long." Matthew smiled.
"Aw, don't be that way Birdie! I love ya." Gilbert grinned. Matthew sat on the floor beside his loud fiancé and put Gilbert's head on his lap, running his fingers through his soft, white hair. He closed his eyes and just sat there in silence.
"I love you too Gil." Matthew said. Gilbert closed his eyes and the two just sat there. Not moving or talking, just enjoying each other. Gilbert soon started to snore and Matthew smiled softly. He knew how to get Gilbert to calm down and sleep, but he hadn't really meant for him to fall asleep after hitting a wall dead on. Matthew looked up to the wall and smiled at the crack that started to form, thanks to a certain hard-headed German's tendency to run into it.
"Ma?" a small voice asked. Matthew looked back to see a four-year old child holding a stuffed polar bear and smiled.
"Oui, mon petit chou?" Matthew asked.
"Is papa ok?" he asked softly. Matthew nodded, motioning for his son to sit beside him. The small boy made his way over, plopping down beside his mama. As he did so, his white hair fell in front of his face, covering his violet eyes.
"What's wrong?" Matthew asked.
"I'm not feeling too good." the boy said. Matthew took his hand away from Gilbert's white hair and put it to his son's head.
"You don't have a fever." Matthew pointed out. The boy shook his head.
"Not in that way. Rose hit my head with a pillow." the boy said.
"What? Rose did? Conner! You have to stick up for yourself." Matthew exclaimed.
"I am just zat awesome!" a girl's voice called. Loud footsteps came running down the hall and Matthew looked behind him to see Rose stop and hold the pillow behind her back.
"Rose?" Matthew asked.
"Ja, mom?" she asked with a grin.
"Leave Conner alone." Matthew said. Rose smiled and nodded, walking over to her brother and helping him up.
"Alright, come on Con-Con let's go play house!" Rose smiled.
"But I don't want to be the dad!" Conner yelled as he was dragged away. Matthew laughed and then felt a warm hand on his cheek.
"Birdie, I love you." Gilbert said leaning up and kissing Matthew. Matthew smiled and kissed him back. "Now can you make dinner?" Gilbert grinned. Matthew rolled his eyes.
"Yes, anything for you Gil." Matthew smiled.
