"What the hell are you doing here, Ste-" I quickly pressed my red lips shut as I realized the person following me was not Stephen.

Hello Elena" Logan Fell said as he shaped his lips into a crooked smile. For that split second he looked exactly like Damon. "Sweetie, you look shocked, were you not expecting me?"

I quickly opened my mouth to talk, but closed it as quick when I realized there was nothing to say. Stephen would save me, I know he would. Because even though we were through, he couldn't deny the fact that he still cared for me. As the thought of Stephen striked me the knot in my stomach reformed, and I forgot all about Logan until I realized he was standing awfully close to me. I could feel the coolness of his body against mine, and I was once again scared.

"Just stand still, this won't hurt a bit!"

I could feel my heart pounding, my body wanted to run, but my brain knew it was pointless. I was numb and couldn't move. I shut my eyes close as I felt his mouth getting closer and closer to my neck. And then I felt nothing. The sensation of somebody's presence was gone and when I opened my eyes Logan was nowhere to be seen. I took a deep breath, but held it in as soon as I saw Damon throw Logan into a tree. The tree cracked as soon as the impact of Logan's stone body pushed against it. Everything else was a blur, they moved so fast it was hard to keep up. Moments later I spotted Logan 10ft away, his body was sprawled on the floor but I knew sooner or later he would recover.

Damon was suddenly inches from my face. "Are you alright?" He asked with a worried look.

"I'm fine" I whispered, "you saved me"

Damon looked away. "Stop it!" Frustration met his voice.

"I'm... ugh... I didn't do anything" I protested. Whatever it was that was bothering him I was anxious to find out.

"Yes... you did. I don't know how you do it, but stop making me feel like there's butterflies in my stomach... having a party or something"

"I..." Could it be that Damon Salvatore liked me? Was that even possible? I could once again feel the knot in my stomach, but this time it was different. This time the knot wasn't created by the absence of someone. It was created by the presence of someone else.

I could feel Damon's lips on my neck, and what he was about to do was clear to anyone who knew him. But the moment I was sure he was about to sink his teeth into my neck he slowly moved them up to my face, looked me in the eyes and kissed me. At first he was very gentle, slowly moving his lips with mine but he quickly forgot how fragile I was to his strength and brutally pressed me against a near by tree. He kissed me so hard my lips went numb, but I didn't care because even though his cold body was pressed against mine, and his cold hands made their way up my bare back, I felt warmer than ever. I put my hand in his hair and thoughts of Stephen were nowhere to be found. Damon backed away slightly creating a small gap between our lips. I watched his eyes slowly open and stare into mine.

"I love you, Elena" He whispered desperately. "But you deserve better than this" His body was slowly moving away.

"No... Don't do this... You can't just leave now" He grabbed the fragile hand that was tangled in his hair and moved it away. "Damon, ple-"

Before I could finish what I was about to say he was gone. I looked at the spot where Logan's body no longer lay. He was trying to protect me, but instead he was hurting me. And although the presence of his stone cold body didn't make me cold, the absence of it did.
