author's note: this story came to me towards the end of the school year when I was stuck in class, bored.
They say that when something is forbidden, you want it more than you did before.
And in the case of Ishida Uryu, this couldn't be more true.
He hated seeing her fall all over him.
He detested the sight of them looking at each other.
He loathed when they touched each other.
Everything they did together infuriated him.
He wanted her. Why couldn't he have her? Why did she have to fall for him?
Ishida sneered, disgusted with the way they acted.
Though not officially together, Ichigo Kurosaki and Inoue Orihime acted like they were. Ichigo was kind and polite, listening to what Orihime had to say and walking with her to class. Orihime was obviously head over heels in love with Ichigo with the way she stuttered and blushed whenever Ichigo looked at her and always fussing about the injuries he received from whatever delinquent activities he was doing.
Seeing them act all lovey dovey drove Ishida up the wall.
He wanted Inoue Orihime.
He wanted her to fuss over him.
He wanted her to blush in his prescence.
He wanted her to love him.
But, that wasn't going to happen, not with Orihime still infatuated with Ichigo and Ichigo being too polite to turn her down. Everyone knew that Ichigo didn't like Orihime, he had another person he was infatuated with, but, because he never told Orihime this, the girl continued to trail after him, hoping for the day when he would ask her out.
Ishida scowled. It was pathetic seeing Orihime pine over Ichigo. Couldn't she see that Ichigo only saw her as a friend? Maybe even a sister?
Ishida would treat her like she was supposed to be treated, like a princess.
He would shower her with his love. He would protect her from harm. He would make clothes for her. He would try her food (even though it was horrendous). He would do anything she asked of him. As long as she was happy with him, he would be her everything.
But that wasn't going to happen. Not in this lifetime at least. Ishida was sure that Orihime had married Ichigo countless times in her imagination and her steadfast devotion to him blinded her to others' affections.
With a sigh full of pain, Ishida tried to accept the fact that he would never have Orihime. No matter how mush he wanted to touch her hair, no matter how much he wanted to hold her body, no matter how much he loved her, he couldn't have her. The forbidden object of his desires would make him want her more and more.
