Summary: Shuichi has to make a choice about his future. Can he build up the courage to follow his heart or will he let things continue as they have been?

Shuichi sighed. It was a miscalculation. He gave up that chance with Hiei for what? An idle whim? No. It had become much more than that. An obsession? Perhaps. His other half could very easily obsess over an item he coveted. It never lasted long, of course, because Youko always got what he wanted.
"So why don't you?" the deep voice echoed from within his mind.
"I can't..." Shuichi trailed off. Not for the first time, his thoughts were too jumbled over the matter at hand to continue.
Without missing a beat, his other half easily voiced his innermost thoughts. "..take him by force? Ravage him against his will?" Youko chided. "That would hardly fit the nature you so prize to uphold. But would it need to come to that? Woo him. Spark his interest. That should be easy even with your lesser skills."
"How is that any better?" Shuichi's lackluster remark only served to spur on Youko's 'I know better than you so you need to listen up' manner.
"Can you really not tell the difference between ra-"
"Of course I know the difference!" Shuichi snapped. "I meant that it would feel just as fake if I forced those thoughts in his head."
"Cocky, aren't we? Even if you do throw all your passion into it," Youko paused with a smirk, "you should give Yusuke more credit than that." Youko's expression grew somber. "Unless you where thinking of using... that."
Yes, it's short. Thus why it's only a teaser. The whole thing is a one-shot so it's not really that long anyway. If you want me to continue, say so. Otherwise, I'll just keep posting teasers as I find them until a story takes either your interest or mine.
