Familiar: Chapter 1

The first death was the most painful. Not physically, no: that was the eighth time, with that stupid plant. It was the sort of painful that you feel in your soul, and in your head and in your heart. When you know that you will never see him again.

I felt it again the second time, and a little the third, wondering if it was just a fluke. Because, really, how often can people remember their past lives?
