What Is My Destiny?

O pale orb waltzing steadily through midnight,

Gracing the heavens with thy ethereal light,

Lookest thou fair upon my destiny?

Canst thou see the hand Fate shall deal?

Yet nay wouldst thou speak,

Had the Creator given thee tongue,

For cruel is that final door,

Locked to our prying eyes and insatiable desire

To comprehend that which is known only of God,

Since eternity past.

A final frontier, that no man may traverse,

Thus shall our future remain a mere shadow,

Illuminated only by the present

As we sojourn through its uncharted depths;

Weak and weary, fueled only by the need to know

An answer continuously beyond our reach.

Is this our fate? Our destiny?

To circle this watery sphere,

As the moon doeth circle in the heavens?

Or is there rhyme and reason to our wanderings?

A purpose to this monotonous existence?

If so, then what is to be is not the last frontier,

But second to the knowledge of who we are.

O luminous sphere traversing the heavens,

Thou doest fulfill thy part of the Master's plan.

May I be as content with my place

In the tapestry God weaves for my life.
