"So Val how's the skull hunting going?" Fletcher sprawled himself on the sofa in Gordon's house. I was lying next to him, with our heads on the back of the sofa and our legs on the floor. I was feeling tired and depressed from not finding any evidence with Skulduggery's skull and when I'm like this Fletcher usually shows up somehow knowing how I feel.

"It's not Val its Valkyrie and yet again we have nothing. Ghastly's calling round some people asking for favours. It might take awhile though." My depression continued on, worse.

"Hmmm we've known each other awhile now and yet I don't even know your name." He had a curious, devilishly handsome look on his face.

"Valkyrie Cain. Nice to meet you. Again" I knew this wasn't what he wanted but it was funny to see his scowl anyway.

"No no Val. Your real name. You know like Lisa or Mary...What is it?"At this he turned his body fully around and propped his head on his hand and had his elbow supporting it. It was awful to do this to him but I still went along with it.

"Why do you want to know?"

"Well...am...Well we're friends and yet we don't even know each other's names. Now that just seems weird for me." He had a point but each other's names? Hmmm...

"Fine what's your name?"

"Wow, what? My name? Why?"

"Well you want to know my name and now i want to know your name. So tell me"

"Am...Well I haven't told anyone my name since I could teleport." His face changed from playful curiosity to a serious contemplating face. Then he smiled.

"I'll tell you my name Val if you tell me yours first."

"How do I you won't teleport when you find out?" I decided a little joke here and there were good. It evaporated the tension that was beginning to grow. It was overwhelming and Fletcher's answer piled it on me.

"I promise Valkyrie" His face was too serious to not take him serious. So I gave him my name. Something I hadn't done in almost three years.

"Stephanie Edgley." I expected him to make a joke about it or at least laugh, but he smile warmly.

"Nice name. That's a really nice name Val. Stephanie Edgley. Steph" He seemed happy to say it and I was happy to listen. The way it rolled of his tongue when saying it mixed in with his London accent, made it sound good. Great actually.

"Thanks Fletcher now what's your name? Martin? Andrew?"

"No. No, Steph none of those awful names. Aw... it's...err" He must not have felt confident to say his name for the house to hear. He leaned over and whispered in my ear. His breath was so close to me. His lips brushing against my ear. It felt amazing having him that close to me. It was like when he saved me from the faceless one before skulduggery got captured. God it felt great to hear his name this close, wait his name! I didn't even concentrate on hearing the name. Dam it! What did he say?

"Aw come again Fletcher. I didn't hear it." He simply wore a warm smirk and told me it again and I couldn't help but think that my name sound nice with his. He must have also thought of this as he wore the same smile as me.
