Marital Issues

Disclaimers: I don't own any of this… although I wish I owned Michael Rosenbaum and Tom Weilling!! :)

Author notes: This happens when Lana is 19, she's been married to Lex for a few months. Sequel to Really Close Friends. Maybe I'll add another chapter for Clark and Chloe.

Lana Luthor woke up with an enormous sadness. Lex wasn't on his side of the bed and Lana at first worried, but suddenly the memories of the last night came back and made her even sadder. "Don't you dare to speak to me like that! I'm your wife!" "And don't you dare to speak to me like that, you little girl, forget I'm a Luthor???" Tears came into Lana's eyes. Maybe it was time to talk about it without screaming or shouting.

She got up ready to look for him and talk, really talk about it. It was when she turned to look at the time when she found that every single clock from the bedroom had been taken away, even the little golden one that Lex had gave her the day he discovered she was pregnant. But that wasn't the biggest problem. She seemed to be locked in her own room. After trying for a long time, she realized that her husband was trying to make her piss off. But Lana wasn't furious. She was crying.

What could she do? She loved him. When they married, a few months before, she had decided to leave and forget all of his past with Clark away. And it seemed to be working really well. When Lex found out about her pregnancy, she thought every thing was going to get even better. That night he gave her a golden clock that Lionel Luthor gave to his wife, Lillian as a gift for Lex's birth. Unfortunately, things weren't that favorable. She woke up one day with a huge pain in her lower abdomen. That was it. A few hours later, in a hospital bed, Lana realized she had lost her baby.

Lex thought she had made something. And then, problems started to come for Lana, who suddenly became aware that maybe he was right. Maybe she had wanted to lose her baby. Lex's baby. Just the night before, while they were arguing, she told him. "I really wanted that to happen". She sat in the bed and cried. Lex went crazy. His wife, the first person who had forgiven him for his past and his mistakes, the one who he really loved, had killed something that meant the world for him. Not even his friendship with Clark was this precious. What was worst is the fact that he LOVED her.

It wasn't her fault. Sadly, to Lex's eyes, it was.

"They told me you didn't make a noise in the whole day, did you have fun?"

"Why are you doing this to me?"

"So you say you forgot!!! Come on Lana, the question is not why am I locking you in this room. The answer to that is obvious. The real question is why did you do that?!!"

"You know it wasn't my fault."

"But you did it!"

"I didn't do it!!"

"Why do you take your word now??? Twenty four hours ago you said you did it!"

"I said I wanted that to happen".

"Isn't it the same thing???!!!"

"No. Lex, you don't know when did I thought that, you don't know what I thought after that, you don't know any of that!!!"

"And what was it, sweet Lana?"

"…We were in New York in one of those nasty parties. Your father said that our son had to be raised in a better way than any other child. Then I saw it. I wanted my son to be a normal child, no special schools, no strings attached to any hue corporation. And then I wished that. What you don't know is that in that split second, I looked at you. I saw your face, and I saw what you were thinking. And I knew that you wouldn't let any of that happen. I was happy you were with me". Then she said, in a whisper. "…I felt happy to know that you loved me".

It took a few seconds for the billionaire's son to understand his wife's words. "Really???" escaped from his mouth. "Lana,… mmm… I'm sorry". She didn't answer, she just threw herself to her husband's arms and started to cry.
