Netherlands wasn't necessarily a bad person, he was just hard to get along with. He had high standards and a short temper. He always knew that no one would ever like him. He knew he should change his attitude but that would kill his reputation. He would rather be shunned and left alone than be taken advantage of. I guess thats why it didn't surprise him when he died, no one cared.

No one really knows how he died, some people think that it was because of drug over dose. No one really cared enough to look into it. They all thought that it was his own fault anyway. In their eyes he was a mental man who lived out of every one's way, if he died, it was his own stupidity that lead to it.

Everyday, there would be tulips left on his grave. These came from Belgium and Luxembourg. They were too kind. He should have treated them better. Still, after all he didn't do for them, they visited everyday. Every day, there was always a maple leaf resting on his tomb stone.

The only day there wasn't tulips, was the day of the world conference. But even then, there was a single maple leaf. I guess some one did love him.

What was really surprising was the day after. There were tulips, and of coarse a maple leaf. The only difference, was there were roses. I guess, Belgium had given France a talking too.

Once a month there were roses, right after the day of no tulips, the day of the world meeting. Thats how it went for almost a year. Until the day the Dutch nation died.

Apparently someone had held a tribute to him. On that day, there were tulips, roses, lilies, sunflowers, and of coarse, a single maple leaf. That lasted for one day. After a while, they flowers stopped coming. Even the beautiful tulips from his siblings. I guess they forget. Still, there was always a maple leaf.

One day the single figure that placed the maple leaf on the lonely grave spoke. "I'm sorry I can't do more. I always loved you Netherlands. What I'm doing seems so useless. I will keep doing it though. " HE laughed at him self, sounding so pitiful, "I guess this is a way I can prove my love." With that he placed a bouquet of tulips next to the single maple leaf. "Happy Birthday."

I wrote poem like this so I turned it into a story. Its basically from the view point of a tomb stone so there isn't much talking. I mean who would talk to a grave? This excludes Canada.

I put a maple leaf because of Canada x Netherlands and Canada doesn't get a national flower. Thats why the maple leaf. The last day he also put tulips because of the "Gift of Tulips" Every year, the Dutch Royal Family gives Canada 20,000 tulips. The other random flowers an the anniversary of death were for all the other nations. The roses were because Belgium and France are relatives I think.

Please review. Also I don't own Hetalia.
