Another request by tate310, this time it's "Percy's Ghostly Trick" from Season 2. Enjoy and comment.

"Every year, on Halloween night, the date of the biggest accident ever on Sodor, a mysterious figure rises up as a warning to others, whistling loudly as he can, shrieking like a lost soul."

"Percy, what are you talking about?"

"The ghost train. Driver said he saw it last night.

"That's silly!" said Thomas. "There's no such thing as a ghost train! And even if there was one, I wouldn't be scared!"

"Thomas didn't believe your story!" said Percy early next morning.

His driver laughed.

"Neither do I!" he said. "It was only a pretend ghost story that I saw on television."

Percy was disappointed.

That evening, he came back from the harbor. Percy knew where he was going, even in the dark.

"We shouldn't be long now!"

Then there was trouble. A broken cart of lyme laid ahead! The driver applied the brakes, but it was tool late! Percy smashed the cart to smithereens! Lyme flew everywhere!

Percy puffed as fast as he could to the nearest signal-box. His driver explained what had happened.
"You better clean Percy, or else people will think he's a ghost!" said the signalman.

Percy chuckled.

"Can I pretend I'm a ghost and scare Thomas?" he asked.

"Sure, but Toby must help too." said the driver.

Thomas was being cleaned before his evening route when Toby showed up.

"Percy had an accident!" cried Toby.

"Bother! That means I'll be late!"

"They've cleared the line for you, but there's something worse!"
"What? I can't be late!"

"I think I saw Percy' ghost train! It's coming to warn us!"
"Who cares! I'll protect you."

"Peep, peep! Let me in!" wailed Percy.

"Not by the smoke of my smoke-box!"

"Then I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll break your door in!"
"Oh dear!" exclaimed Thomas. "I must find Annie and Clarabel!"

It was morning when Thomas returned.

"Where have you been?" asked Toby.

"I knew you would be sad about Percy, so I came here to protect you."

Just then, Thomas saw Percy.
"I must go now and fetch my coaches!"

Percy was enjoying himself enormously, and had heard everything.

"So what do you think of that?" chuckled Percy
"I think that Thomas saw a ghost!" replied Toby.
