Disclaimer: Impossible Pictures owns Primeval and its characters

A/N: My first to be published! It's short, but I hope you like it! If you liked it, tell me. Also I rated it K+ for the focus of death dwelling the story, but that's all - It could easily be K.
One day I thought "Why did we only see how Cutter effected Connor?" I mean we know she cried, we know she missed him - but we saw mainly Connor struggling over the loss and although Connor and Cutter were closer, Cutter was still like a father to Abby as well. So I wrote this. Enjoy!

Cutter's body laid still on the pavement of the ARC lot, his stone beating heart and bleeding chest laid there in front of her every time she closed her eyes. It taunted her, more than she seemed to be able to bear.

"No!" Abby yelled, jumping up from her bed in the flat. Connor jerked up from the ground and rubbed his eyes, Abby forced herself to make shallow breaths as Connor pulled himself up on her bed.

"Abby," he said, she looked at him with bloodshot eyes and dark circles sagging under. Connor placed his hand on her cheek and attempted a smile.

"Are you all right?" He asked her, she nodded.

"It was just a nightmare, I'm fine. It didn't happen." Abby tried to convince him and herself, Connor squeezed her hand. She looked back at him.

"It did happen, Abby." Abby shook her head and pulled away from him.

"No."

"Abby, I know-"

"No, Connor! No!" Abby stood up from the bed; Connor tilted his head down and swiped his brow.

"Abby..." He tried to tell her, Abby leaned on the wall and looked out off the balcony of her room. Her eyes looked back at him and her head shook back and forth, refusing to believe it.

"He's fine, Connor. You just don't know." She assured, Connor looked at her with tired eyes.

"I do know, Abby."

"No!-"

"Abigail!" Abby looked at him in the eyes, tears filling his eyelids. He stood up off the bed and stopped in front of her. His voice whimpered and cracked as he forced words out of his mouth. "Cutter's dead." Abby turned her head away, her legs gave in and she landed on her knees as sobs echoed out. Connor came down beside her until she lunged into his arms, embracing each other with tears streaming down their face. She hid her face into his sleeve and his head upheld on hers. With another tear he brushed his hand through her hair and whispered.

"I don't want to believe it either..."
