"Shikamaru!" she called out yelling after the black hair shinobi "Shikamaru come back here." Ino ran after him, the tears pouring down her beautiful blue eyed face.

"Shikamaru please wait," she continued running after him. He turned around as he reached the gate.

"Ino, go back home I told you it's over, it was a mistake to ever try and date you. I'm in love with Temari and I'm going to tell her so. Now go back home." Shikamaru's voice was cold and hard as her continued his trek, exiting the gates of Konoha and starting down the road to Suna and his sand princess, Temari.

Meanwhile in Suna

Temari sat in her window staring out at the stars, there were never clouds here only the stars. She smirked, clouds, that lazy bastard, she thought. The wind howled outside her window as she watched Kankuro walk towards the house, finally home from his mission.

"Temari," he called as she left her room

"Welcome home little brother," she said with a smile. "Have a good mission I take it?"

"Yes I did thank you for asking." Kankuro smiled and looked at his big sister "Anything on your mind Temari?" He was trying to be nice and take an interest in his sister's life.

"Oh it's nothing Kankuro," she said dismissively but he knew better than that.

"It's that guy from Konoha isn't it?" he asked. She blushed a lovely shade of crimson "Shut up and take a bath Kankuro," she said going back into her room.

Meanwhile several miles from Suna

"Maybe I should have done this during the day," Shikamaru said listlessly, "What a drag." He continued along the wooded path that got more and more sparse as the trail continued on.

The gates of Suna loomed only a few more meters away in the distance. "Border patrol," he said quietly to himself as the moon rose giving life to shadows all around him. It appeared that even nature itself want them to be together.

He waited a few moments until the border guards came into view and range. He used his blood-line trait of shadow manipulation to hold them in place as her ran past "Sorry! I'm in love!" he said as he got into the streets of Suna searching for her house.

After only a few moment of searching he spotted it, and he smiled, he had been there only once before but he would never forget that place where he first fell in love with the green eyed blonde sand princess. He picked up a small rock and threw it at her window praying it would only take one to get her attention. After several minutes with no signs of movement, he threw another stone and whispered her name loudly.

A light flocked on and Temari appeared in her window opening it and jumping down into Shikamaru's waiting arms. He held her tightly off the ground for several seconds before placing her feet on the ground.

"I missed you so much Temari, I couldn't sleep, me the boy who always sleeps."

"I missed you too Shikamaru-kun." She smiled softly "why did you come all this way? How did you get past the border guards?"

Shikamaru smiled "I had to come see and, as for the guards I temporarily… boundtheirshadowsandranpast."

Temari blinked at the last part of what he said "Shika-kun, what did you do to the guards again? Slowly this time please"

"I bound their shadows and ran past…I said I was sorry though."

"It's going to take a lot for me to smooth this over with my brother you know" she said agitated.

Shikamaru grabbed her into a kiss. "Temari, I love you" he said softly in her ear. At those words several tears began to fall from her eyes and she smiled "I love you too Shikamaru."
