"Would you like an apple?"
Kuroko watched the other shook his head as he slowly placed the red fruit-just like his hair-back onto the plate. "You need to eat something you know."
The red head pulled a piece of paper from the drawer and wrote some words on it,'Its alright',it said. "But still-" a pale hand stopped his insistence. Kuroko sighed,"Fine, but this is the last time."
He leaned back onto his bed-it's uncomfortable-and stared at the flickering light hung on the ceiling. "Hey,"he called out.
Akashi turn away from the mirror to lock his eyes with Kuroko's. He gave him a gentle smile-were those tears that were threatening to pour out from his glistening eyes?-as a gesture to continue.
"I've been wondering, about how you are feeling."
Kuroko watched the other flipping the piece of paper-now slightly crumpled-with the corner of his eyes.
'What do you think?'
He thoughtfor awhile,"I don't know. I never do though, when it comes to you."he said admittedly. Akashi placed the back of his left hand against his chapped lips to keep himself from chuckling,'Is that so?' he wrote on the corner of the paper.
Kuroko nodded,"All the time."he reached out for the book placed on the nightstand and felt the hard, leather cover. He got slightly startled, when a piece of paper was being flapped right in front of his eyes. He pushed the hand-cold-a tad bit further to read the words written on it,'How about you?'
"I'm...doing well I guess,"he said to the paper. "...just tired at times."he added when he felt the hard stare the other was giving him. Kuroko felt a hand ruffling his locks, and when he looked up,he saw Akashi giving him a smile that seems to compliment him for telling the truth. They both turned to the door when someone opened it harshly.
"Kuroko,it's your tu- Woah, what are you brats doing?"a young man with blank eyes and dull looking grayish hair clad in a disheveled doctor suit, asked suspiciously.
"It's not what you think it is,Mayuzumi-sensei."Kuroko deadpanned whilst Akashi nodded as a greeting. "Yeah right, after all those cases of people witnessing your public affections."he rolled his eyes.
"Just think of it as a mother showering love to her child,"the teal head says as he pushed the red head away gently so that he could get off the bed.
"That's disturbing. That freaky four eyes with crazy green hair will be taking you so you better hurry. That guy gets really cranky each time someone doesn't arrive on time."
"Midorima-sensei is going to cry if he heard what you said,Mayuzumi-sensei,"he said before giving a nod to Akashi and exiting the room. Once Kuroko was out of sight, the doctor sauntered into the room and closed the door behind him softly-unlike his entrance. He moved towards the red head and sighed,"..When are you going to give up on this act, mother?"
Akashi simply gave him a glare before looking away to the mirror yet again,"I don't know."he croaked out. His voice was getting rather dry and hoarse for not speaking a single word for quite a long time. "I don't know."
"You are already long healed, yet you still want to act mute and stay in this cramp, disgustingly white room. Are you stupid?"Mayuzumi chided lightly.
The red head laughed-a sad one-,"Maybe I am. But it's not my fault, that I want to stay by him. Besides..."
"Besides..?"
"No,it's nothing."
The doctor sighed and muttered some incoherent words before leaving the room. Akashi walked nearer to the mirror and placed a hand on it. The flicker of his golden eye made the room even brighter than it already was somehow. He chuckled to himself,
