A/N: So this is a rewrite of Howling at the Not So Full Moon—I loved the story but my writing style just changed so much I thought I'd give it another go!

Chapter One:

"You're not very good at this whole walking thing, are you?" Collin asks as I lay in the middle of the hallway. Given, I did fall there, but that was no way to talk to a lady. Especially one that was as good looking as myself. Psh, yeah right.

"Must be genetics," I shoot at him- then, realizing I'm still lying on the floor, I narrow my eyes at him. "Aren't you gonna help me up?"

"I got you." Seth grins, offering a hand to me. My insides turn to goo. And not the good kind either, the kind that looks like something out of the Blob and makes you sick. My cheeks flush red and I try to be cool.

"Oh, yeah, thanks, man." I answer, in the most 'chill' voice I can muster as he helps me up. He laughs.

"Yeah, no problem" he smiles, and then he turns to Collin- "Hey dude, I was thinking about the beach tonight and…" They traveled down the hall until I couldn't hear them anymore. Where was Dakota when something absolutely ground breaking happens? That girl was more lost than found these days and I was getting pretty fed up.

I turn to a group of fellow freshman I spot on the other side of the school and yell out to them. "Ay punks! Anyone seen Dakota around here!? She's the short one!" Everyone gives me a weird look and hurries away. Guess they haven't seen her.

"The one time I leave you alone you scare off possible soulmates." Her usually sarcastic voice greets me from behind. I turn with a stylish twist of my body and grin that I'd been practicing in the mirror for weeks.

"I just saw my soulmate, toots, and he went that way." I point in the direction Seth moseyed off in. She quirks a brow at me.

"Did he propose?" That was a silly question. These things took time. She of all people understood that.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Brady Summers what was that?" I smile politely, but she only rolls her eyes. It was no secret that we'd been secretly lusting after my brother's two best friends for months now. I think it's probably the rules after you hit puberty or something.

"Don't start with me, Brady is a whole bowl of umf." She laughs, opening up her locker to pull out a pack of poptarts. I take one too and we sit down to enjoy our daily post-algebra snack.

"He's alright, but SETH, have you seen that boy, I'm not an expert or anything but that's some drop your panties material right there. Speaking of, we just basically held hands in the hall, I think we're really starting to take things to the next level." I gush. We didn't agree much on either of the guys. I thought Seth was perfect, and that no guy could compare to him, but Kota felt the same way. It's obvious who's really RIGHT in this situation, but for her sake, I play along.

"Anyway, I'm thinking some hard core cartoon watching after school. Not to get you too excited or anything, but I'm thinking Rugrats so it might be pretty wild." She does that smirk thing she always does when she cracks a joke and nearly swallows her second poptart whole.

"Can't. We've gotta go to the beach, that's where Seth and Brady will be. The beach is the perfect place to hang out with guys, we'll like casually bump into my brother there it'll e perfect. The beach is like the human mating ground, so we've gotta wear some flashy colors or something." I tell her convincingly, and she goes along with it- whether because it means she gets to see Brady or because we get to try to be cute for once I didn't know.

"Flashy colors? Isn't that how Peacocks chose their mates?" She laughs at me.

"Exactly, my Darling, exactly."
