Just something I randomly wrote a while ago, just to get my brain started. Also posted for the Too Many Cookies Boot Camp challenge on the DFC. Hopefully someone out here appreciates it a little? Please and thank you!
The beautiful thing about digivolution was that you never know who you'll be until you get there. V-mon didn't know who he would be when Daisuke used the Digimental of Courage, just that he would become strong enough to protect and defend his human partner and new friend. V-mon didn't expect the fire-wielding, gravity-defying warrior that was Fladramon, but once he was him, the idea of becoming anyone else was just wrong. His skin itched just imagining it.
Then there was Lighdramon with the Digimental of Friendship. Strong legs, great speed, and those lightning attacks were freaking awesome. Not to mention, being able to carry Daisuke comfortably and conveniently on his back, to jump and play and hear his partner scream with joy... V-mon loved it. He loved feeling so close to Daisuke and understood, finally, what Hawkmon, Patamon, and Tailmon meant when they said that riding with their partners gave them a deeper bond. V-mon probably shouldn't mention that to Daisuke though.
However, V-mon's favorite evolution had to be XV-mon. All the power of Lighdramon, with the skills of Fladramon, and the wings! He could fly! He didn't have to feel useless against an air-bound enemy and he could protect his friends on more than one level, literally. Plus, it was as XV-mon that he cemented his friendship with Wormmon as Paildramon It was how he saved the world.
But no, really. The flying was the best part.
