Hi, this is my first fanfiction! It is based on the song Come Wake Me Up by Rascal Flatts. I don't own the lyrics, so I will only be using what the song talks about. It's really good, you should listen to it.
Summary: After Shawn moves out of Juliet's house, he stays at the Psych office and drinks too much. He thinks about Juliet and reflects on how their relationship used to be. One-shot.
Alcohol, no cursing.
Shawn was exhausted. He took another sip of the alcoholic beverage beside him, trying to get Juliet off his mind. It usually worked, but tonight he missed her too much.
Shawn tried to push her out of his heart, forget her, but he was too tired to try.
It began, everything sinking in and bringing back the pain like it happened earlier that evening.
Everything that she did and said came flooding back. It kept playing through his mind.
Her memory burned like a fire. Every picture of her and him, every thought, everything she had taught him haunted his mind.
Shawn could never get over it. He tried to wash it down with more drinks, but only felt worse. He couldn't drink the love away.
He sat in the chair, praying that she'd come back. He closed his eyes tightly, hoping he was dreaming and Juliet would be there to wake him up, to save him.
Shawn turned the TV on loud, hoping to drown out her voice, but he couldn't forget.
He was all out of ideas. Even The Breakfast Club couldn't cheer him up.
He took a look at the clock on the wall. 2 in the morning. Juliet was probably asleep, but he was sitting there crying. Shawn was sure she had moved on, maybe even back to another man like Declan. After all, it had been a month and they hadn't talked.
It felt like a fire was burning in his heart, and it wouldn't go out. He closed his eyes again, praying and hoping she would trip and fall back in love with him. Shawn knew that she was moving on. He knew he should give her up.
Time did not healing anything, like Gus told him it would. The pain was worse than when he got shot. Worse than the actual breakup.
He knew Juliet couldn't hear him, but Shawn said it out loud.
"I need you Jules!"
Another memory shot through his veins, making him feel like he had been electrocuted. This triggered other memories, which he tried to wash down with more shots, more drinks but failed miserably. He just couldn't let go.
Shawn gave into the feelings this time. Tears shook his drunken body. He would never forget the love. Never. God, he hoped he was dreaming.
The only person he wanted to wake him from this nightmare was Juliet, and she hated him.
Right?
