PREFACE
The angel child was very concerned. He knew the Golems were returning again, and the danger would reappear. The angel child knew that a few angels would put up a fuss, for they wanted NO Golems even remotely near their small colony. Most of the different hosts of Angels were now extinct. Only the musical Minstrel Angels survived into modern times. But, this particular clan of Golems did not possess strong supernatural powers like many other clans that were developing in this day and time. Besides, if the Golems rediscovered the truth about angel existence… then the angel child could easily make them forget again. For many of the other angels called this angel child the "Memory Keeper" – although what he actually did was make people forget. And he was the only angel currently alive who had been born gifted with this particular ability. But, the angel child did not believe that the Golems would rediscover their old knowledge. He believed that the host of Minstrel angels was quite safe. What he decided to do was send another angel… a much stronger angel… the Archangel. This angel's violet colored eyes marked him as an extremely powerful angel. The archangel would keep watch over the Golems… and all would be safe. The angel child went to the violet-eyed archangel at once… to announce his plans.

CHAPTER 1
Martin Silverstone
September 15, 2065
It may seem odd that I'm starting out the story of my sister, Merlyn, but I'm doing it anyway. I know the story that Merlyn is about to tell you like the back of my own hand. However, through the long years, I find that there's always a little something more that I pick up when I read it again.
A few facts about myself…I'm Martin Silverstone. When this story starts, I'm fifteen. I have golden blonde hair and baby blue eyes. I'm basically a girl-magnet. If I sound a bit full of myself that's because I'm a bit conceited in my own way. I just never was an humble person. I knew I was very attractive and accepted that fact.
Without me, Merlyn wouldn't have written her story in order to share it with you. That's because one time, long ago, I was an essential instrument in sustaining her life. But, since she insists that I never speak of it…then I won't.
I will say that by the end of this story, you'll pretty much know what a Golem and a Minstrel might be. You'll also learn about a special tree.
Well, this is about it. Anything that I might have left out, Merlyn will fill you in. But perhaps I just might drop back in for a visit.
