In the first few months of school people were actually scared because Lily, James, Sirius, and Remus were sitting together at lunch and were practically inseparable.
If someone hurt Lily, James would be furious, Sirius would drop his wand and punch the closest thing to him, and Remus usually the sensible one would be shouting across the room for James and Sirius to come with him.
Remus was like her guardian angel. He was always there to protect her if she was sad about James or if she was just sad in general.
James was there to teach her about love, giving people second chances, and how you can't judge anyone until you have really known them.
Sirius was there like a brother. There to beat up her enemies. Sometimes they would hang out by themselves just talking.
Lily was there to add the "rules" and for a girly touch.
They all balanced each other out so well, everyone would agree that this was something not many people could get.
