A/N: Inspired by the death of a friend. While I wasn't close to him, he was close to many of my friends who, like myself, miss him dearly. Rest in peace, Dan. I hope you have found your heaven.

"Do you ever wonder what heaven's like?"
Jasper snapped his head at Alice, shocked by the sudden question. His pixie wife stared forward, her tiny fingers grasping onto her lavender dress. She looked pensive, and Jasper immediately felt curiosity radiating off of her small body.
He shrugged. "Not really. I figure there's no point if I'm not welcome there."
Alice nodded grimly and straight away, Jasper regretted his blunt answer. He was certain that if he wasn't so taken aback by the question, he could've fabricated a more sugary response to please his wife. Instead what she got was the harsh truth. Vampires, whether it is fair or not, are damned beings. Even if they were mortal, killing was a sin. Heaven, Jasper knew, was a place that no vampire would ever end up.
"Why do you ask?" Jasper inquired, cautious.
Alice shrugged this time, still lost in her own world. "Curious, I suppose. We're not that close to many humans, but I still wonder about them. A lot of them are good people, you know? They deserve some peace after death."
Jasper stared curiously at his wife, unaware that she ever thought about such a topic. It wasn't her mortality or morality she questioned, it was that of the human creatures around her.
"What do you picture heaven's like?" Jasper asked, his voice almost childish. He didn't mean for the words to slip out, but as they did, he realized he truly wanted to know.
Alice thought for a moment. Her eyes were unfocused, almost as if she were having a vision. Maybe she was.
"You know how you feel when you hug me?"
Jasper nodded before realizing that Alice couldn't see him. He muttered a quiet 'yes', afraid that if he spoke too loudly, she wouldn't continue.
"Well, I feel it when we hug too. Only, it's extreme because not only do I feel my own comfort and bliss, but I feel yours too. I always tell Bella that you give the best hugs…not because you're my husband, but because it's literally like being wrapped in comfort. I think, in heaven, that's how you feel."
The corners of Jasper's mouth tugged up in a small smile. After all these years, he wasn't aware that he had this affect on his tiny wife.
Leaning forward, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a tight hug. He felt her smile into his chest as she pulled him close, exuding comfort and serenity.
Jasper closed his eyes and smiled. Whoever it was that said that vampires would never know heaven had clearly never known his Alice.
