This is just a project that my English teacher assigned to us after reading To Kill A Mockingbird. If we chose this for our prject we had to write a five paragraph sequel to the novel. So, I just decided to post my sequel as a fanfic. Please R&R!!

Scout sighed as she looked around the corner. All her family and friends were there. Jem was sitting with his three year old son on his knee, bouncing him up and down. Jem's arm had healed somewhat in the years following the the attack but there was still a noticable differance. His wife didn't seem to mind much.

Calpurnia was sitting beside him in the front row, making faces at the little boy and calling herself "Aunt Cal." Her skin had formed wrinkles and her hair became gray but inside she was still the same old Cal from all those years ago. It scared and saddened her to think that it had been that long ago since she had been a little tomboy with a bad temper and a dirty mouth.

She returned to the bridal room and looked in the full length mirror. She was about 5' 4" with breast length wavy, blondehair and a slender frame. It surprised her how quickly she had accepted womenhood. Each year she grew more and more accustomed to being feminine untile, at thirteen, she traded in her overalls for dresses and learned to enjoy spending time with the women in the neihborhood. Plus,Jem was way to old to have her following him around. Don't get her wrong, though. She was no Aunt Alexandra. She could still hold her own around the boys but she also knew how to control herself.

At that thought, she whirled around to see Atticus standingin the doorway. He was old, white haired, and brittle but handsome all the same in his tux. She was glad he had retired when he did. Exhaustion had threatended to take him early two years prior, scaring the family to death. In the years after the Tom Robinson case, he had continued to defend anyone no matter what their race or gender.

She could barely hear his whisper of "It's Time." She turned to the mirror once more to quickly confirm that her white dress was in order and grabbed her bouquet before taking his arm and walking out the door. The music started to play as they reached the flowered archway. He turned to her one last time before he gave her away. The tear that slid down his cheek said it all. Then they both turned, arm in arm, and walked towards Dill for the first and last time.
