It was a cold night, as always. Ran Fujimiya looked at the clock on the table beside his bed. It was 1:55 in the morning and he hasn't had a good night's rest. He had a lot of problems that's more important than sleeping. It wasn't until he heard something in the kitchen that he sat up from his bed and checked the noise out. He opened the door to his room and went out. The hallway was dark so he fumbled about the walls. He hit his toe on something hard and shouted in pain. The lights in the hallway opened at the sound of his scream. "What are you doing up?" A female voice asked from the other end of the hallway from where he was. "Nothing… I just heard a noise down stairs." Ran reasoned to the voice he knew that owned to his sister. "Oh really?" She asked again. "Yes. Didn't you hear…" He was cut off when he heard the noise again. "Maybe you're right." Aya-chan whispered, clutching her brother's sleeves. Both of them motioned to go down the stairs, Aya-chan still clutching on her brother's shirt. The noise became louder and louder until they entered the kitchen. Ran opened the lights and motioned towards the refrigerator. "Trixie!" Aya-chan exclaimed upon seeing the culprit who was making all the noise in the kitchen. "I told you to keep that cat out, but would you listen? No…" He extended the sound of the 'o' in 'no'. "OK, OK. I'm sorry." She said as she motioned to get the cat out of the mess by the fridge. "Next time, you're sleeping in my room." She addressed the cat. "No more 'mister-nice-pussy-cat'. You're going to stay in my room." She added. Ran turned to go but was stopped by a sound in the other room… the living room. He looked towards the kitchen and saw that Aya-chan was also in shock, holding Trixie. "What was that?" She attempted at a whisper. "I don't know." He answered. He knew that they had only one cat and Aya-chan was holding on to it. He motioned towards the living room. He was unfortunate that he didn't get his katana before he went to the kitchen. It was too late, the stairs was just beside the entrance to the living room and if the culprit heard him, Aya-chan might be in great danger. He took the risk. He entered a hand and fumbled the wall for the light. He found it. He switched it on and saw that there was another cat by the broken vases. "Huh?" Was the only thing that came out of his mouth. "Trixie? Who's he?" Aya-chan asked addressing the cat she was holding. "Meow." (My boyfriend.) Trixie answered jumping out of her master's arms. "Meow." (Hi Trix.) The other cat purred as he approached the other cat. The two cats rubbed at each other. "Heh. I think I should go to sleep. You take care of this." Ran told Aya-chan as he went up the stairs. 'This is so weird. A very weird night, indeed.' He thought closing the door behind him.
