The Battle Of Ahkaman and Hakan

The Battle Of Ahkaman and Hakan

Ahkaman and Hakan were two brothers who strived to constantly outdo each other. Always trying to impress their fair mother and strict father, Ahkaman would go to any length to have his way. Hakan was the righteous child. He would stay within the boundaries of sanity to please his family. To please the parents of the two would seem near impossible. The family were that of gods. They ruled over the people of the Middle East, though not for a long period. The rivalry between the two brothers would eventually lead to a dark time.

Ahkaman thought of a way of finally out doing his brother. Their mother had always been fond of beautiful plants and such, so Ahkaman would build a garden of immense beauty in the city of Babylon. It was then that Hakan felt defeated. When the gardens were finished their mother was pleased. She constantly wandered through the gardens admiring their beauty.

All the while, Hakan slowly drew himself to insanity, wanting revenge on his brother's victory. Hakan started to visit the gardens to watch the sunset and try to find flaws of the gardens. All the while, Ahkaman was still not satisfied. He wanted to be rid of his brother, out of fear that one day he would somehow surpass the beauty of the Gardens of Babylon. And so, Ahkaman came up with a plot to murder his brother and claim it to be an accident. Ahkaman would wonder into the garden, sneak upon his brother, and stab him in the heart.

The night that Ahkaman was going to perform his plan, their mother heard of Ahkaman's intentions and rushed to the gardens to stop him. When Ahkaman reached the spot where his brother was, Hakan was waiting for him. The two began to fight, an epic battle of two master swordsmen.

While the two fought, their mother showed up and tried to stop them. Hakan in his insanity slipped and killed their mother. Reason returned to Hakan and in his rage of what he had done, defeated Ahkaman in their duel but spared his life. It was there in that moment that Hakan used his godly power and trapped Ahkaman in the garden, leaving him there to dwell on his mistakes and greed.

When Hakan left the gardens, he feared of returning home, out of fear of his father's rage. Hakan went into hiding and was never seen nor heard of since then.

When their father heard the news of what happened he was indeed enraged just as Hakan knew he would. Corruption filled the great gods heart. He began to mistreat his people, and eventually turned to the rule of tyranny. Finally the people rose against the god and banned him from their land. Thus marked the end of the gods. Only now do the people wait for the return of Hakan to take his fathers place.
