Terenas, the king of Lordaeron, was desperate. He was 30 years old and he still couldn't have a son. For years had he tried and yet, nothing. He had drank potions and endured the most unbelievable spells and incantations without results.
Recently, he had heard news of a very powerful spellcaster who, even though he did not follow the Holy Light's teachings strictly, had managed great things. Among these was the possibility of giving children to the ones who couldn't have them. That was where the king, followed by his royal guard, was heading to: to a house within the mountains near Andorhal.

Kel'thuzad waited, patiently. It had been a while since he last spoke with his mentor, and his words were as confusing now as they had been when he said them. Nevertheless, he would do his will, for now he was almost bound to him or anything that was connected with him. He thought he heard some strange noises around the path that lead to his place.
oOo
The king smiled. The one he had heard so much about was waiting for them, at the doorstep of the house. He ordered the cavalry to stop and he got down from his horse. One of his men took its reins.
None of them spoke. The king entered the spacious hut and, when his men tried to do the same, the wizard spoke. "Only me and the King will enter. Otherwise, the spell might not work properly" Terenas nodded in approval and told the royal guard to patrol the surroundings while they waited for him.
oOo
The place was poorly lightened by candles which projected a dim, eerie light. There were sigils all around the place: the walls, the floor, the roof, the windows. There also were piles of books of very different thickness and size… Some of them were stained with odd substances the king did not wish to ask of.
"Now, what brings the King to this humble place?" The wizard faked a smile, but Terenas did not notice this.
"I am in need of your services. As you may know, this kingdom does not have a proper heir and I've been wishing and trying to have one for years. Not a long while ago, I heard of you and of your abilities and decided to come and test them"
"You wish for me to give you a son, then?"
"Aye" A simple, mundane answer.
The spellcaster placed his hands on the king's head and mumbled ancient words. His eyes lightened with a green light as he pronounced this words and Terenas felt somewhat dizzy. After some time, the hermit's eyes came back to normal and his hands freed his king's head.
"It's done. Today you shall try again and you will be blessed with a son"
oOo
"Really, how can I ever repay you?" As the king said this, Kel'thuzad remembered his mentor's words… He remembered the Lich King's words. "Just name him Arthas"
oOo
Nine months later, the birth of the Prince of Lordaeron was celebrated: the birth of Prince Arthas.
