Shiro shot up in bed, breathing heavily. The images that plagued his dreams flickered across his vision. The dark surrounded him, intense pressure feeling like it was crushing him, squeezing him, and that made him want to hide under the blankets until someone turned on the lights. He couldn't bear these nightmares any more! He wanted to scream at the world for how it made him suffer!
Suddenly, a gentle, slow knock came on his door. He turned his head in it's direction, only able to rely knowing his room to find what he hoped was the door. Hesitantly, Shiro called into the darkness: "Come in?" The door slid open, allowing a sliver of light to grace his room and frame the figure standing in the doorway.
"Allura?" Shiro questioned, noticing the highlighted waves of her pure white hair. "What are you doing here? You should be sleeping." He still shivered slightly from the aftermath of his nightmare, but the sudden disturbance had stopped the fear and anger he always felt.
" 'D a nightmare..." She mumbled, voice slurred from sleep. The Princess walked over to him and sat down on the bed, snuggling against his arm, eyes closed.
"Uh...Princess...?" Shiro managed before she wrapped her strong arms around his waist in a hug, heat rising to his face. She had to be delirious from sleep. There was no way she would do this if she was properly awake. Right? Although...the others had started calling him 'Space Dad'...he had no idea why though...no, it couldn't be because of that.
He was broken out of his thoughts by gentle snoring emanating from Allura. Despite himself, he smiled softly at her now-sleeping figure. Then he realised he couldn't move. He couldn't disturb her now. Oh well. Shiro thought to himself, and waited until she shifted in her sleep to gently slip out of her grip and carry her bridal style back to her own bed and tuck her in.
When he returned to his room and got back into bed, he fell asleep almost instantly - a rare occasion - with a small smile on his face. The rest of the night he slept nightmare-free.
