The sunset shimmered onto the small pond as little petals fell. Setting a calm atmosphere. The steam of the tea in my hand floating up and dispersing in the air. The world was quiet with the small sounds of nature. This was seemingly perfection. The finest of moments. Yet something felt off. Like something was missing.
I took a sip of tea while closing my eyes. I left them closed taking in the scents of the world. When I opened them, the darkness of the night had finally filled the sky. That missing piece was here, arms delicately wrapped around me as if I could break. I smiled ever so simply.
"You should smile more."
"Hm?"
"Your smile is just amazing. I would love to see it more." He spoke softly. Knowing I didn't like very loud things. Especially in moments like these. That's why I loved moments like these. Where everything is calm, and everything is fine.
"You don't have to say such things."
"You want me to lie? Lying to you would be the death of me."
"That's a little extreme..."
"Yes, but," he turned me to face him. "Love makes people do crazy things." He had soft features like he was holding something fragile. His rarity of opened eyes gleamed with a caring joy laced with love. A soft smile on his face. He leaned in letting his sweet lips touch mine. Soft and precious.
He was such a puzzle to me. A quality I loved so much. He would always keep me guessing with what odd thing he would do next even in the sweetest of moments such as this one. He will say the most overused things known to romance, but for some odd reason I loved it.
Along with that, he can be unlike anyone. Caring and understanding. He really was one of a kind. With his one of a kind actions. This kiss was one of a kind. Indescribable. When he pulled away, he started giggling. I sent him a questioning look.
"You look so cute!" He nearly tackled me to the ground. "Your smile is just so amazing!" He giggled some more. I couldn't help but join in. He was just so fun. It was hard not to laugh along. Our laughing was ended by a sudden spout of rain from the sky. For a moment we froze as we processed what was happening. Until we eventually just started laughing again as we got soaked from the rain. He helped me up as we ran for cover laughing like it was the most we'd ever had. It sure felt like it.
Almost slipping a few times, we managed to make it inside completely soaked from the rain. Still laughing a bit. Our laughter died down and we realized our situation.
"I didn't bring any spare clothes...is it okay if I borrow some?" He asked me.
"I don't think it will fit you."
"You're right...then I will do the next best thing!" He better not. He started getting undressed. When he got to his underwear I stopped him.
"Don't!"
"Then what do I do?" That was a great question that I didn't know how to answer. Some debating went on in my head until I eventually sighed.
"Fine do it." I turned around to hide the blush that I felt rising on my face. Then I realized I also needed to change. The heat on my face was to the point where I was sure I caught on fire.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes." I ran to my room after answering so I could get changed quickly. I even found something to cover him up. I came back downstairs to find him sitting there like it was a normal day. I threw the clothes at him. "I found something that might fit you."
"Great! It's even better because they're yours." He winked. Damn him.
"Just put them on. It's not ethical that you walk around naked."
"Alright." Almost instantly he had the clothes on and it did fit him. "Wow, your clothes are so comfortable!" I yawned a bit too loudly, grabbing his attention. "Seems like it's time for bed!" He dragged me to the bedroom and laid me down on the bed. He got onto the other side. I was in a daze by this point but I couldn't miss his warmth wrapping around me putting me into a comfortable sleep. But not before hearing his sweet voice barely above a whisper saying goodnight.
This was seemingly perfection.
