This is my first bones story, so please take it easy on me. It's just a short story. I hope you guys like it. And please review.

P.S.- I don't own any of the characters.

She was anxious. Why she really had no idea, it wasn't logical she knew that, still she couldn't help it. She was now sitting in the waiting area of the crowded airport. She had been for the past two hours. Again she had no reason for that. She knew perfectly his flight wouldn't get in until 2:35pm and yet she arrived since 12pm and was sitting, waiting anxiously for his return.

The past year without him had been lonely. She almost laughed out loud at that thought. Her, Dr. Temperance Brennan, lonely. The thought seemed absurd since she was doing what she loved and she had never needed anyone around her. As long as she had work she was happy. And yet she missed him, all summer long. She woke up expecting his call, every once in a while she would look up from her work, expecting him to see him walking up to her. And she even missed him calling her Bones.

So here she was, waiting for him, with a purpose. "Bones." She was going crazy; her desire to hear his voice had her hallucinating. "Bones." She heard it again and she turned around to see him there standing behind her.

"Booth." The word slipped her mouth without even realizing it.

"Hey Bones. Did you fall asleep?"

She was now standing up and looking at him, with the row of seats still in the middle of them. "No, I was waiting for you. Your flight is not supposed to get in for another 30 minutes."

"Well we got here earlier."

"Good." She took in his image. He was dressed in a simple jean and a blue shirt. He was clean shaven and carrying a duffel bag. For all intent and purposes he looked like he had just come back from a simple trip to visit family or a vacation, but she could see he was different. Her eyes were darker; there were more lines around them. He was standing like there was a big weight on his shoulders and his smile wasn't real.

Without hesitation and without waiting for her mind to over think her actions she walked around the row of seats and around the people to stand right in front of him and hug him. It took a second but he hugged her right back and it felt so right.

She didn't know what to say so she just stayed quiet, enjoying being in his arms. His hold on her was very tight, but she didn't mind.

After a little bit he spoke in her ear, although it was just a whisper. "I love you."

Her throat closed up and she just couldn't speak. The way he said those three words and the meaning behind them were so strong, too strong. True, she didn't answer. But this time she didn't let go, she didn't push him away; she stayed right where she was, in his arms and in his life.
