Jeremy's Legacy

Summary: Tanya and Jeremy had 4 weeks together in Afghanstain, but they fell in love and Jeremy died but what if he left something behind with Tanya more than a memory what if he left behind a baby.

Author's note: came up with this idea while rewatching army wives getting ready for the special this weekend. Not sure the timeline between the time Jeremy died and the ball but I'm putting it at 2 months though I'm sure its longer.

Chapter 1

Tanya stood at Jeremy's grave the night of the ball with tears running down her face. She said, "I love you Jeremy and today I found out something from my dr that you should know. That last night in Afghanstain left me with a little present I'm pregnat. I thought you should be the first to know. I will make sure your parents know their grandchild Jeremy and I will make sure he or she knows about you."

Tanya walked back to her car and than drove back to the base knowing that it was time to tell Frank and Denise. She drove to their house knowing that they probably would be back from the ball by now. She knocked on the door nervously not sure how the Sherwoods would react to her pregnacy she would hope that they would be happy about becoming grandparents. She looked up as Frank answered the door she smiled at him having only seen him a few times since Jeremy's funeral. He said, "Tanya is something wrong its late."

Denise came up behind him and saw the look at her face. She said, "Tanya come in what's wrong."

Tanya came in and sat down on the couch in their living room. She said," I had a physical a few days ago this morning I went back to get the results. They had some suprising news for me."

Denise took a quick breath and grabbed Tanya's hand already having a feeling what she was about to tell them. Tanya continued, "I'm 10 weeks pregnat and its Jeremy's."

Frank sank down on the couch on the other side of Tanya and said, "When did this happend?"

Tanya said, "the night before i left Afghanstain we set up half the night talking and than we made love the rest of it. My roommate was at the hospital on duty all night so we were alone."

Denise said, "have you decided what you're gonna do."

Tanya said, "I know i want this baby. I'm not gonna give him or her up. I wouldnt do that to yall or to Jeremy's memory. I went by Jeremy's grave earlier and stood there for a few minutes and told him. I felt dead or not he should be the first to know."

Denise hugged Tanya with tears in her eyes all she could think that she may have lost her son, but maybe this was a last gift for them from him a grandchild. She looked over at Frank over Tanya's shoulder he had tears in his eyes. She said, "Tanya we will be there for you throughout this. This is our grandchild Jeremy's baby."

Frank put his hand on her shoulder and said, "yeah shes right we'll do whatever we can to help you ok."

Tanya nodded and touched her stomach and said, "I can't believe that it took me this long to figure it out."

Denise said, "Its been a long 2 months for all of us you been grieving probably didn't even notice the syptoms."

Tanya said, "thanks."

They sat there and talked for a few hours about things. Frank and Denise continued to tell her that they were there for her no matter what. Finally they all headed to bed Denise bringing a pillow and sum blankets to make Tanya a bed on the couch.
