Chapter 1
"Man, oh, man…I'm so late!" said Ari, as she ran down the hall and into a room, breathing heavily as she shut the door behind her.
"So nice of you to join us, Miss Kuso," said Mrs. Akata, Ari's fifth grade teacher. "Please take a seat behind Miss Kazami." Ari sighed and sat down in the desk behind a black-haired girl.
"Late again, Ari? That must be a new record for you," said the girl. Ari glared.
"Shut up, Yura. I'm not always late!" Yura smirked. Yes you are.
Later…
Ari quickly shut the door behind her as she entered the house. Ugh… 3…2…1…
"Ari!" yelled a voice. Ari groaned, bracing herself for what was coming next. Suddenly, a woman with long blue hair emerged from the kitchen, anger evident in her eyes.
"Ariana Kuso! Why are you just now getting home!? It's 6 o'clock!" Ari scratched the back of her head sheepishly.
"Uh, sorry Mom, I guess I lost track of the time…" she said, grinning nervously. Her mom was about to say something else when another voice spoke,
"Relax, Runo. She's here isn't she?" said a brown-haired man.
"Honestly, Dan! She's so much like you, it's almost unbearable!" Runo growled, and walked back into the kitchen. Ari sighed in relief.
"Thanks, Dad." Dan smiled.
"Don't worry, she nags me too."
"I heard that!" yelled Runo. Dan and Ari laughed.
That Night…
Ari awoke to a flash of light. She crawled to her window to see a hundreds of beams of different colors shooting everywhere, and her eyes widened to see a red one coming straight at her. Ari ducked her head, and after a minute she opened her eyes to find a card and and a red marble-like thing lying in front of her. When, suddenly the marble-thing unfurled.
"Hello, I am Pyrus Apollonir, it's nice to meet you."
