Lily looked around her room with a happy smile. She'd just got back from a shopping trip with her mother and was ready to sort out all her clothes. This needed doing soon, since she was going back to boarding school in two weeks. Lily was going into her second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and she couldn't wait to get back to the castle. Although she was clever and very pretty with a good dress sense, Lily was also very shy and had practically no friends, especially not in her own house of Gryffindor. Lily loved being a witch though, and having no friends was not something that particularly daunted her, she just spent extra time on her studies.
Placing her shopping bags on her bed, Lily dragged her trunk out from underneath it. She had been to Diagon Alley the week before and had gotten all her second year books and potions ingredients. Her parents had also gotten her a new cloak, which was a deep purple in colour, so that she didn't just have to wear her school Gryffindor one all the time. All her books were stacked neatly in the bottom of the trunk along with her potions ingredients, her cauldron, her scales and her telescope. On top of that she neatly folded her school uniform – three pleated grey skirts, three long-sleeved white blouses, two short-sleeved white blouses, two grey jumpers edged with red stitching with the Gryffindor emblem on them, one jumper which didn't have any sleeves in but was other wise the same as the others, one red blazer, one gold and red striped tie, several pairs of grey knee-high socks and her black buckle-over shoes. One top of this she placed her black school robe and her new purple robe. With that done she had all her school stuff ready and would only have to worry about her muggle clothes to wear at a weekend when she was packing in a week's time. She shut the lid of the trunk and pushed it back under her bed and turned her attention to the shopping bags, which still lay on her bed.
Lily had straight red hair, which was at the moment pulled back into an extremely high and extremely tight high ponytail, and green eyes and a slim build. She wasn't too tall and she wasn't too short. She began sorting through the shopping bags that lay on the bed – some of the stuff she would be able to take to Hogwarts for the winter term, others she would need to wait until next summer to wear. She pulled out the two new hooded tops she had bought; they would be ok to take to Hogwarts. One was a light green in colour and had on it and emblem in a cream colour with the words 'classic vintage' around it. The other was a bright turquoise blue in colour and in bright dark pink writing it said 'Hawaiin Islands' and underneath it had a shield in white for the 'Sure League Championships'.
