Riley Matthews, straight A student at Abigail Adams High School, member of the decathlon team, the newspaper club and daughter of Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence-Matthews, and longtime fan of the Knicks. And in Tony's opinion at least, most importantly, the newest intern at Stark Industries. Yeah, Tony was starting to think that his paternal instincts were going haywire with all the kids he was now giving internships and equipment. For Riley though, it was with good reason. The girl was a civilian that Peter had rescued four months ago, and had managed to befriend.

Riley was smart, kind and everything Peter wanted to talk about. She was also, one of the few people who knew his secret identity, having found out while stitching Peter up after a fight. Tony commended the girl on being able to keep her cool knowing that one of her closest friends was a superhero. Peter was determined to get her into the internship program, preaching to the choir about her whenever he could, even saying he'd give up his spot if it meant that Riley would get in. Tony obviously refused and that was how he was now standing inside a small cafe waiting for Riley to finish her shift. Finally, Riley was done, walking over to the coat rack, she barely glanced at Tony before he spoke.

"So you're the Riley Matthews Peter can't stop talking about?"

Riley stood in her spot her coat halfway put on as she turned to face him, mouth wide open with excitement as she nodded. Her hair flew over her shoulders as she gasped quietly.

"You're Tony Stark. Oh my God!"

She mumbled throwing a hand over her mouth as she started to squeak.

"You betcha kid. I hear you've helped Peter out of some trouble before? Well, I wanted to thank you for helping him out, and I know that you're pretty good in the science department, so I'm here to offer you an internship at Stark Industries. It'll be a weekday evening thing, and I already called both of your parents to inform of the offer." Riley gasped again, eyes meeting Tony's and without a warning, she hugged him tightly.

"Thank you so much Dr. Stark. I can't believe that you're giving me this opportunity! I can't even tell you how much I appreciate it."

The look of total happiness on the teenage girl's face made Tony smile as he hugged her back. He knew that Riley was a smart girl, he had seen her at one of Peter's decathlon competitions, and her wits had completely blown him away. Her mother, Topanga Lawrence-Matthews was one of the best lawyers in the Greenwich village area, and if there was one thing Tony knew, it was that you didn't want to be on the other side of one of her cases. Riley's father, Cory Matthews was a teacher at one of the local high schools, and a damn good one at that. Cory was also well known for being a generous guy, and during the Chitauri invasion of 2012, he had helped out with the reconstruction of New York City, and had even started a charity foundation to help with the donations.

Yes, Riley was smart, and her parents definitely had a part in it. And, from what Peter had told him, it seemed that some of that smartness was just Riley herself. With straight A's in every subject, and a personality just as incredible, Tony would be very surprised if he didn't see the sophomore making headlines within the next few years.

"Alright kid, do you want to go see where you'll be interning for the next few months? Pepper and Rhodey are back at the center, and I'm pretty sure they'll be happy to meet you."

"Pepper? As in Pepper Potts? Yes I want to go! Please Dr. Stark!"

Riley's look of wonder and pure happiness made Tony burst out laughing as he guided her to the car, where Peter and Happy were waiting patiently.

"Hey Riles! I can't believe you got the internship! I'm so happy for you! "

Peter's proud smile made Riley blush, and Tony made a mental note to meddle with that later. Happy smiled at Riley, introducing himself politely, before beginning to drive. Tony got into the passenger seat, shooting Peter a wink, causing the boy to blush vividly. Riley however, didn't seem to notice, as she replied.

"Maya said that chances that I'd get the internship were slim, and Lucas seemed to agree with her, so I'm just as shocked as you are. Smackle, Zay and Farkle all told me that I'd get it, but I didn't believe them."

Riley's voice quivered as she stared at her feet, her shoulder length brown curls falling into her face. Peter looked angry, no not even angry, he looked pissed as he wrapped an arm around her shoulder pressing a kiss to her forehead. Tony felt as if he was interrupting a sensitive moment between the two teenagers, and he rolled the partition of the car up turning to talk to Happy quietly. "I think he likes her," Happy raised an eyebrow at Tony, before motioning with one hand to continue.

"He seemed really mad when she said that her friends didn't believe that she'd get the internship. Besides they've hung out before, and he trusts her enough to let her know his identity, something he hasn't even done with that Michelle girl on his decathlon team. In my opinion, he should make a move. He obviously cares about her, remember when that monster attacked her school? He freaked out and was ready to kill it, if it meant that she'd be safe. I think they'd be cute together. Besides, from what he's told me, it doesn't seem like Riley's friends have a lot of faith in her. She seems pretty lonely to be honest, and with parents who are that perfect, I'm surprised she's not going crazy like I did as a teenager."

Tony looked back at the teenagers, who were now looking at something on Peter's phone, probably a meme or something.

Tony smiled as they continued driving, oh yeah, the two of them were going to be a great match, and Tony would have to be the matchmaker it seemed.

A/N: Why did I write this? I really don't know you guys. I don't know. Maybe it's because I think that Riley and Tony would be hilarious together, maybe it's because I like the idea of Riley being friends with Peter. I DO NOT KNOW!
