Disclaimer: I own nothing of the Twilight Saga.

Author's Note: This was just an experimental one-shot, but instead of getting rid of it, I decided to just post it and see how it turns out. Hope you enjoy!

UPDATE: I made some corrections that were long overdue. I deeply apologize for that, and hope you continue to enjoy this one-shot, thank you!

SHE'S MINE

So, they were on better terms. As much as Kyle would love to feel happy for her, something else now was troubling him.

Sam and Emily's wedding. The newlyweds had their first dance a long while ago, and now Emily was dancing with her father, and Sam with Leah, his ex, now cousin-in-law (not like that was weird or anything). Watching his she-wolf, and not that he was possessive, but Kyle saw no hostility or bitterness in Leah's expression like there used to be, just peace as the two former lovers danced to the upbeat song, sharing a laugh while looking like they were having an actual good time.

He almost didn't like it.

For one thing, Sam was his rival, in more ways than one. One, being that Kyle was a vampire. A "vegetarian" vampire, but still a Cold One no matter his refusal to ever feed on human blood. Another being the alpha was Leah's first love. Her first everything. So many expected them to be the ones to tie the knot here… oh, Uley better watch where he put that hand!

But yes, Leah and Sam were expected to be endgame, until the supernatural made other plans. Not that Kyle was complaining, not when he was given the opportunity to meet Leah Clearwater, and fall madly and irrevocably in love with her, natural enemy or not. She was his, and he was hers. He didn't to be her imprint to feel that way.

Still, as happy as he wanted to be for Leah to move on, and as happy as he felt for being the reason for bringing that calm, none of that eased the scene of them dancing and smiling and laughing together.

Kyle didn't even realize what he was doing as a wedding guest's plate suddenly levitated on its own. The man gawked wide-eyed at the spectacle before him, then at the half-empty wine glass that also started doing the same. He slammed down the napkin he'd been holding on the table and walked away, promising he was done with alcohol.

The song was reaching its finale.

His eyes still on the alpha and his mate, Kyle gulped down the wine in his glass and set it down on the table beside him, just as the guest's plate and wine glass collapsed back down to the table with a clang. He ignored it, moving a hand through his dark blond hair as he made his way to the dance floor./p

It is the east, and Leah is the sun.

Just as the song ended, Kyle was already beside Leah and Sam, forcing a smile.

""Mind if I cut in?" he asked politely.

Kyle could almost feel his heart beat again from the way Leah smiled so lovingly at him, but Sam's face… and they called Kyle's kind the Cold Ones.

"No worries here. I'm gonna go dance with my bride some more, anyway." Sam gently pulled away from Leah and started to leave, then turned and added, "No biting."

Kyle let out a low growl in Sam's direction as the alpha walked off.

Glad to see you two getting along," Leah smirked, and Kyle found himself forgetting about Uley when he found himself in her arms again, her scent surrounding him like an aura that eased the beast inside him.

"It feels so good to be holding you again."

She scoffed. "God, that is so corny, and I've only been away for five minutes, Kyle."

"Actually, that would be three minutes and forty-six seconds, Miss Clearwater, but not that I was counting." He winked.

Leah's smile turned into a teasing grin. "Jealous, Mister Cullen?"

"Jealous? Of course not! Jealousy is a terrible, ugly thing. Jealousy is a negative emotion of distrust and doubt. Now envious, that's more of an interesting word," he pointed out as they started moving to the song, one that was slow again and sweet.

"Really?"

"Indeed. Envious, such as, the way how Sam Uley had his hand like this," he pressed his hand gently against the fabric of her dress behind her, "and how it was almost like, this." he moved his hand up, and grinned when Leah gasped to the coolness of his touch, just like she did in regards to private matters. She felt so smooth under his touch.

Leah quickly came to and cleared her throat when realizing they were getting some looks from the other guests, and not just on the dance floor. She leaned into him, her lips inches from his ear and whispered, "I could get used to having an envious vampire boyfriend."

She grew serious when her eyes locked into his, gazing back at her soulmate. "But there's nothing for you to ever be envious about," Leah told him sincerely, her words soft and so melodic to his ears. "Ever."

"Same here," he replied.

She rolled her eyes.

"I was saying I love you, jack-ass. Just because I make fun of that corny way you talk doesn't mean I don't like it."

Kyle grinned, then surprised Leah by dipping her back, just like in a classic romance.

"How's this for corny, she-wolf." Then he kissed her, in a way that had other guests gasping, and some even swooning.
