Harry Potter was just falling asleep, when there was a knock at his bedroom door.

"Harry, Ginny, can I come in."

Harry sighed and opened the door, "what's the matter Teddy?"

Teddy had been staying over at Harry and Ginny's house often, even though he was technically living with his grandmother.

"Harry, I-I, I had a bad dream," whimpered his seven year old godson.

"About what?" Harry asked.

Teddy just shook his head.

"Well, whatever it was, I'm sure it's just a dream Teddy."

Teddy shook his head once again.

Harry was not quite sure what to say to Teddy at this point to comfort him. For a moment, he debated whether or not to wake his pregnant wife, sleeping soundly beside him. He decided against it.

"Teddy, would you like to tell me what the nightmare was about? Do you remember it?" Harry tried, once again.

"I remember it," Teddy said in a very small voice.

Harry was just about to open his mouth to speak once again when Teddy interrupted him, "it was about my parents," he whispered.

Harry immediately softened even more at the statement.

"Teddy," Harry began, "I know it's hard growing up without your parents, believe me, I do, but you have so many people in your life that always have, and always will love you. You have a family Teddy. All of the Weasleys, they all love you Teddy. So much. I love you Teddy. So much."

"B-but, why don't they love me. My parents. Why didn't they ever? It's not fair!" Tears were now spilling down the little boy's face, and Harry could feel his own eyes, also, swimming with tears. Teddy's usually vibrant turquoise hair was now turning into a sad, dull gray.

"Listen to me Teddy," said Harry firmly, looking his godson straight in the eye, "listen to me very carefully. You're parents were two of the most wonderful people I've ever known, and they loved you more than life itself, Teddy. They still do, even if their not with us anymore. You're parents died so that you could have a wonderful life. They gave their lives so that you could be happy. That is what it means to love someone - to be willing to give your life so that they have a shot at a beautiful, worry-free, happy life."

Teddy blinked up at him.

"They loved you Teddy," Harry concluded quietly.

Teddy did not speak for a few moments, then, finally, he said, "thank you Harry. I love them too."

"Goodnight Teddy," Harry said, closing the bedroom door behind his godson, as the little boy left the room,

"Goodnight Harry."

"Sweet dreams," Harry added, before returning to bed himself.
