This is an idea I had for a while and I felt like writing it down.
Kasumi is an oc of mine that I made when I was around 11-ish. Her original name was Kenji but then I found out that was a boy's name so I went all 'pffffft. She's gonna be a nameless chicky for a while'. But eh. I'm not even going to give you a disclaimer. Seriously, if I actually owned Fairy Tail, why in the world would I be writing fanfiction for it? Really. I'd be an idiot. Now, where's all that money.
A gate had never looked so intimidating. It protruded from the ground in a manner of stating that it was there and you were meant to be staring at it. The cartoon-look of it betrayed the daunting feeling it radiated.
Kasumi tried to keep her distance, but gritting her teeth, the building behind that gate glew with a warmth that she was drawn to. She never was one to search out trouble, but she knew that what she needed was here, granted the wariness she felt. The whoops and calls from inside the guild building warned her of the fights that were happening within. She wasn't worried of that though; fights being a daily occurrence, as to why she kept her long, pink hair braided and chainmail under her thick clothed top and wide slitted skirts. What had her dismayed and procrastinating entering the building was a certain dragonslayer mage who was no doubt the source of said fights.
Internally gulping, she walked through the gate she has dubbed as a demon, and pushed open the left side of the large wooden doors leading into the chaos.
What she saw didn't surprise her much, almost every person either arguing or throwing punches. She looked around quickly and when she didn't see him, made her chance to leave.
"You wanna go Ice-brain?!"
She stopped at the edge of the door and looked around once more.
"Shut up! At least I'm not some girly ice mage!"
The stupid insults were what really caught her attention. Finally, she found the spiky, pink hair she was looking for. Before he threw the first punch to the mage he was insulting, Kasumi delicately placed her hand on his shoulder, drawing his attention.
"What? Who are you?" He asked, his face still contorted in a scowl. She stayed still and smiled at him. Suddenly it clicked in his mind. "Ka...sumi?"
His fellow members stopped their squabbling at the scene before them.
"Yeah, it's me, Natsu." She put her arms around his back and he leaned down to hug her shoulders. Some guys gave a hoot and Natsu growled.
"Shut up guys, she's my sister." The hooting stopped and Natsu put his attention back to Kasumi and pulled away, still holding her shoulders, "I thought I'd never see you again! What are you doing here?"
Her face stayed stoic but a blush broke out while she stumbled over words in her head.
"I need your help", she said, the blush retreating, "It's a job."
"But I thought you never joined a guild?"
"I didn't. They sought me out personally. And as bad as it makes me feel that through all that trouble they took to find me, I can't do it myself."
"Well, what do they want you to do?" Natsu kept a worried look in his expressions. Kasumi was his sister even though he had not known her for very long. Kasumi, on the other hand, had known him much better he did her. Every once and awhile, when she passed through Magnolia, she'd check up on him; look and see the happenings like a good big sister should.
"They want me to kill Ignipotens, The Ruler of Fire."
