So this came to mind when I thought that Sora likely didn't tell Ruri this and Dennis only now just got back and feels like he owes her...

Denial
"Ruri-chan..."
The purplehead didn't look up from staring at the ground before her, Rin's barely breathing body not too far away from her letting out a shuddering gasp. She couldn't. She just couldn't.
"I don't think that the candy cone told you about this but..." Dennis reached out for her shoulder, flinching when she edged away. Why would she do that?" ... Ruri... your friend... Yuto... is dead... I..."
"W-What?" she looked up at him with a stunned look coated in disbelief. The magician nodded and reached out in a comforting manner but she just hissed and slapped his hand away, a fierce glare gracing her face. "Go. Away."
"I c-can't... you..." he began... it was obvious that his darling Ruri was in denial. He reached out for a third time, only to get a nasty scratch for his efforts. He yelped in pain and stared at her from the other side of the bars in surprise. She just glared back.
"Get lost before I hurt you." she said. "I can't believe that I trusted you for even a moment!"
"Ruri..."
"Yuto may be dead." the XYZ counterpart continued. "But even so I would never love you. Get. Lost. Now." Dennis glared at her hateful for denying his 'confession' and walked away without a backward glance.
Rin looked up and had to laugh, however feeble it was.
"You t-told him... you really d-did it Ru-Ruri-chan."
"Yes." Ruri smiled. "Now all we need to do is wait."
"R-Right..." Rin curled up with a soft smile before falling asleep. Her counterpart joined her soon after.
