It was a very well known fact.

Gibby was… strange. But like I said, everyone knows that.

It was 3rd period and Gibby and Sam had Math class together.

Normally, Sam would be asleep by now, but something (or should I say someone) kept drawing her attention.

And I think you guys would agree with me when I say that Sam wore an expression that looked as though she was watching a baboon eating low-fat yogurt with a TV remote.

There, in the seat next to Sam sat an occupied Gibby trying to reattach a pencil broken in half with a tissue.

"Hey, Gibby…what the heck are you doing?" Sam asked, looking at Gibby like he was a loon…but its not as if she never looked at Gibby like that before.

"Geez, Sam, what does it look like I'm doing?" Gibby replied as if saying "duh".

Sam rolled her eyes and laid her head on her desk.

About five minutes later, Sam saw Gibby get up from his desk, probably to throw something out. Sam assumed that Gibby was finished with his pencil "surgery" and decided to ruin the pencil's "hopes and dreams", seeing that she wasn't going to get any sleep.

A few seconds later, Gibby arrived back to his desk and gasped in astonishment.

Sam smirked victoriously. "Awww, is wittle Gibby's pencil broken again?" Sam asked in a baby voice, barely keeping in the laughter, threatening to explode.

Gibby scowled at Sam but didn't say anything. Sam continued, "Why don't you use a glue stick and glue the pencil back together?" Sam suggested, remembering the time she stole a pen from Gibby's pencil case, while noticing a glue stick.

Gibby immediately smiled and set to work again. For the rest of the period Gibby used up all his energy repairing the little pencil. In the end he even took another tissue and neatly made it a "cast" with a hole for the eraser too. Gibby smiled in triumph and showed it to Sam.

"Look, I fixed it!"

Sam smirked and leaned over.

Snap

Sam laughed at Gibby's expression, gathered her things, and headed towards the door.

And… just for the heck of it… she punched Freddie in the gut as she passed by.

What a great day! Sam thought.
