Run.

This is the one-shot created for Mystery 002's competition. Please vote if you think it's good enough and maybe some will nominate me?

It was official in his exhilarated mind.

He loved running.

The way the landscape blurred into a painter's easel of rainbows. How the wind worked with him, encouraging the speedster to go faster until his legs ached and when he created that oh-so-satisfying sonic boom that shattered what little quietness there was left in the goings of daily life. The dark shadow adored how he could use his highly efficient ruby jewel-like orbs to focus on his surroundings and see every detail in crystal clear high definition, marvelling at the beauty of wondrous Mother Nature and her subjects. He loved the feelings of freedom and simple joy that he gained from this rocket speed that he couldn't normally have from anything else; how the sense of taking off from the ground and flying drew him out of himself, out of his troubles and fears and made him feel weightless and not here with the flow of the world. The Mobian creature became one with the softness of the textured clouds and the coolness of the calming ocean at the times when he glided effortlessly over blue waters. There were moments, whimsical moments, where the deity melded with Chaos energy and time itself, as he used the Chaos Control technique with the greatest of ease. If he incorporated that into the power of his strides, he achieved even more speed and that was a true sense of adaptability. But afterwards he enjoyed the sense of slowing down, the emotions he received when coming back to himself. Watching the world return to normal and feeling the ears ruffle instead of being pinned back to the smooth fur on his head; it made him elated and relaxed at the same time. As the hubbub and commotion of routine occurrences seeped their path back into his senses, he would smile at that too, a gentle smile of knowing and pity that others would never understand the rush. Sitting under a well-shaded elm or taking refuge in a local library afterwards to let his trembling slim legs recover soothed him and he could hide his carmine eyes under delicate black hoods to retreat into his pure soul, into his protective shell so he could doze. It calmed him and ignited happiness and satisfaction.

Yes, Shadow the Hedgehog secretly loved running.

But no one would care to listen to that lecture now, would they?

There you have it! Basically I think that Shadow would really enjoy running and getting to new speeds, so I wrote that feeling from him like this. Please review as well.
