CHAPTER ONE

Harry was staring at the book in front of him in horror. He had just woken up after his seventeen birthday after going through what he was sure had been a creature inheritance. In fact, Harry had been a hundred percent positive that it had been a creature inheritance. Especially considering the rather nonhuman characteristics he had gained after his seventeenth birthday is. It was because of this, and the fact he really wasn't sure how his so called family would react to his changes, that lead Harry to where he was now, looking up all the characteristics he could find about his new form and see just what he had transformed into.

Unfortunately, Harry had been able to single down what he may possible be to once single thing and that was what was causing Harry to look as dismayed as he was. Which despite the fact that he would usually be happy about being able to figure out just what he was, like you would think he would be, Harry couldn't really bring himself to be, mainly because of just what he was. Even if he was only half creature from what the book said and from wat Harry knew deep within his soul that he was a Genie; well half a Genie.

However, even being half Genie wasn't a good thing in the wizarding world; even those that had the smallest sliver of Genie blood in their family did their most to hide or deny that fact, to deny that blood. And in the wizard world, especially in England, letting it show that you had Genie blood in you, well that was like asking to be branded a slave for live. To always be chained up ready to serve the person that was deemed your master.

This was because in the wizarding world being a Genie, or even part Genie, was considered to be nothing but something similar to a house elf; if slightly more valuable because of looks and power. To be a Genie in the wizarding world, at least in the minds of the wizards and witches that made up that world, was to be something that was there to serve the wizarding world. Which, again in the mind of the wizarding world, were so clearly above Genies, in any way that they desired. At least that is what the majority of the wizarding world thought. Though Harry himself new the truth, the real truth given to him by Magic herself. Not that any books or the wizarding world as a whole would accept this truth or ever let it be known to anyone.

According to Magic, Genies were her children, the ones who had the greatest connection to both her and nature itself. Because of this and the great power they welded they had to be bound by certain rules that all Genies follow. Which, unlike what almost everyone, including Harry thought, it wasn't being forced to live in a certain bottle for all eternity having to serve multiple masters each who were then given three wishes for all of eternity. No it wasn't like that for Genies, magic would never be so cruel to her children.

In fact, the truth was Genies were nothing like the picture that appeared in many people's head when they thought of them. That is unless certain criteria were met. Truthfully, the whole reason that the living in the bottle and granting wished was thought to be the truth for what Genies were was because of two things a practical joke gone horrible wrong by a certain Genie, thousands upon thousands of years ago. And because of what had happened to a number of Genies over the last couple of hundred years.

Because you see, Genies are usually free and very powerful human who have no master but when captured and bound down by things that can capture or block out magic, like certain pure cold irons, a Genie could be forced to call his capture master and grant him his wishes. Which usually only added up to three very painful wished for the so called master before the Genie escaped; most often than not killing said master as they did so. Though it should be noted that Genies when free had no problems what so every granting wishes for those they consider friends or family; in fact, they almost always do so.

It could also be said that it was because of Genies the saying be careful what you wish for came into existence because when forced to grant wishes a Genie can, and most often will, twist the words of the wish around to suit their needs until it is something completely different then what the wisher originally wanted.

So like it was said before Genies weren't that similar to what people thought that they were and most people, especially the majority of the wizarding world, were completely wrong in their ideas about them. Most often magic punished those who hurt her children in such a way; some in wats that can never really be pointed out as her; such as the number of squibs being born in a certain line or even the ending of certain family lines.

In truth true Genies, be they half or full blood genies, according to what Magic told Harry, are only bound by a certain set of rules led down by mother magic herself and by the power they welded; which is different for each and every Genie. Full blooded genies more often the not being at least twice as powerful as half Genies normally are; though there has been a one in a thousand case where a half genie matches or sometimes goes over a full Genies power. Though that was so rare if almost never happens; maybe one or twice in the whole history of Genies.

The rules that both Genies and half Genies are bound to are that they have to follow Magic's wishes no matter what they have to obey what she says; to go against her wishes will have their very magic turn against them and destroy them from the inside out.

Genies have to have a grounder to keep their powers from both driving them insane and tearing them apart from the inside out. This is another reason why people seemed to think that people thought that Genies needed a master, but again it isn't true. They do need a grounded which usually the feel an instant connection to and they usually have a strong relationship with. Be it as friends, as family or even as lovers; which usually has the Genie using their magic to grant wishes of their grounder. But they do not have to obey the grounder and if the grounder tried to focus the issue a genie can easily break the bond between them and find a new one; though if the bond is broken unwillingly, like a death, it strikes the genie more and usually has the genies magic lashing out violently. Which in some case can lead to the death of the Genie.

The finally the last of the big rules that the Genie must follow is that they must not in any way make themselves seem like a god of any sort least they find out painfully how they aren't gods in the least bit; from magic herself.

If any of these rules are not followed or broken in any way, then the one who broke the rule will permanently be stripped of their magic and left with nothing but an icy empty hole where it had once been. That is if their magic's doesn't destroy them first, and it is said the more violent of the rule breakers are the one who suffer from having their magic painfully ripped from them. It should also be known that No Genie had ever lived more the three days without their magic; more of then not killing themselves from the loss of magic after the first hour to rid themselves of the empty feeling.

Harry found out that full Genies instinctually now what magic wants them to do and knows instantly where to find their grounder are; literally having a picture and a pull to where their grounders are seeing as they are usually the ones who need them more. While half Genies have to wait to be told what magic wants from them and be led to their grounder by magic. Though in the more powerful cases magic has literally either dropped the grounder in front of the genie or dropped the genie in front of the grounder.

And that they usually get told what Magic wants them to do shortly after their inheritance. Harry knew he hadn't been told what he was to do yet, just informed about the truth of Genies, but at the same time knew he would be soon; that the mission that magic had for him was very important. So all he could do was hope that it had nothing to do with the extremely predigest wizarding world and wait and see just what magic had in store for him. Strangely knowing this didn't make it any easier.

Sighing Harry put the book down and headed to the mirror he had ran away from earlier, when he had first found out about the creature inheritance, ready too actually get a good look at himself; his new half Genie self. Instead of just noticing the major changes and hightailing it way from the mirror as fast as he could in denial and into the nearest creature book trying his hardest to prove what he had just seen wrong. What he saw in the mirror wasn't his usual self; if he didn't know better he would never have honestly believed the person in the mirror was actually him.

Instead of a tan seventeen year old teen with a shoulders a bit too board for his skinny swimmers build, hinting at the fact he still had some growing let to do, with a short messy birds nest of pitch black hair and brilliant emerald green eyes, was now a pale light silver blue skinned, almost looking a white pale in the light of his room, teen with a lean but muscular swimmer build that looked to be done growing, dark almost black purple mid back length hair and to top it off the figure in the mirror not only had slightly pointed elf like ears but swirling hypnotic silver and emerald green eyes as well. Looking more like some mythical being straight out of a fae fantasy than anything else.

In fact, the only thing really similar from what he had been to what he had turned into was that he still had the sharp cheek bones and facial features of his parents; only looking a lot more noble then they had before or as if someone had removed the more human like flaws he had and replaced them with something more otherworldly. That and the fact he still had the twice dammed lightning bolt scar he had gotten from Voldemort when he had killed his parents. As well as the fact that his eyes still had some of the emerald green he had found out came from his mother; only it seemed to glow with power more so then they had ever done so before.

Seeing all of this changes Harry was grateful he had only become half Genie instead of a full one because if these where the changes a half one went through, which according to magic was one of the inheritances that had the least amount of physical changes in it, then he most certainly didn't want to see what would have happened to him if he had become full Genie; which considering his luck he could have very well have become.

Thinking on this for a bit Harry sighed once more before turning to head back to his bed. That is when he heard a loud ringing in his head. A ringing that Harry had already began to associate with Magic contacting him. Knowing this and knowing it was important Harry opened himself up to Magic ready to receive her message. When he did he was shocked at what she had to say to him.

"Hadrian Genie, my child, I have come to a decision when it comes to thy fate. At the given moment I cannot, and will not, leave you to the wizarding world as it is. They already know that thy has come onto the inheritance that you have. They know you are one of my children and have already begun to make plans to have thy bond as a personal slave to one Severus Snape. Whom upon reading his mind being those flimsy things that he seems to think are impenetrable shields, I have found out has planned to torment you in any sick way that he can think of, as a way to punish you for whatever slights you father and mother had done to him. These so called punishments include but are not limited to handing you out as some sort of sexual slave to any of his Slytherin that want you; which with all the blocks, potions, and spells that they plan on forcing on you they can make you do. Not only that but the so called leader of light knows just what that sick man is planning for you and approves; believing that it will make you stronger. I do not approve of this and I do not agree in the least bit about what they are planning nor will I allow it to happen. I am tired of this world and how it treats all of my children, I have had ENOUGH of this world, these so called wizards and witches will suffer for everything that they had done; they will learn just why you do not mess with mother magic. You on the other had will I want to get away from this world, away from its prejudice and give you my child a new home. A home that in exchange for giving you a place to stay, a place to live and have people that you can call family that you will help and be beside the chosen of that world; he will be your binder. Anything else that I want from you will be told to you at a later date, once you become settled down in you new world. To make this easier for you, I will make a couple of small change to you so that you can deal with everything happening, and learn about you knew world, better. Also like I remind all my children, remember that your grounder bond can be a bond of friendship, of brotherhood, or even of love depending on the people bond together; there can also be more than two people in a bond together, and most importantly you can love another and still have a grounder bond with someone else. Be happy my child and I hope that you find a wonderful life in this new world."
