Perfect, she breathed in and out twice, golden brown eyes flicking about always landing on that clinical shade of clean and pure, unblemished white. Lacquered red nails tapped agitatedly, the rhythm scored into her brain, her left leg twitched in her sheer tights, unable to keep still. She pressed her pale pink, creamy lips together, feeling so ashamed, this wasn't right. It wasn't supposed to happen like this. It was never supposed to happen like this; she smoothed her thick strawberry red fringe that stuck to her clammy concealed forehead. She wished she had had the foresight to wear her hair loose, she missed the security of her long straight locks swinging freely, easy to hide behind like silky scarlet curtains. Not taday, though, her heart shaped face was plain for everybody to see, she used to like how her hair looked in a bun: tidy, practical, her lion brown eyes were accentuated as were the sharp contours of her high cheekbones. She could have been a model, dizziness assailed her, everything had already switched to past tense. She didn't know anything now. It was all a blur, a vast white blur.
Reluctantly her gaze glanced down, long enough for her to redouble the energy in which her left leg shook, lovingly painted nails tapping louder. How much longer could this take? She felt cold and lonely, so so unbelievably lonely and ore scared than she could have ever imagined. More frightened than she had been when Bex had been kidnapped by her psycho ex, than when she thought a porno of her would be released on the internet for everybody to see, for her Mum to see. Her Mum.
She counted down the seconds. Not long to go now, her large eyes burned. Vicki was pregnant. Vicki was a mess. She swallowed hard, if they both had kids they would be half siblings. That was a twist that none of them would have seen coming. An hysterical laugh bubbled up in her parched throat. It was squashed instantaneously when her regard latched onto the small screen of the pregnancy test. Her eyelids closed immediately, she didn't want to see it anymore. She just wanted it to go away. Please go away.
