Summer Vacation
Chapter 1
This was by far the WORSTSummer Vacation ever. I had done nothing but waste away in the hot humidity. All my friends had just left to Australia and I couldn't come! Instead I had to go to my cousin's house in New Jersey. I was thinking to myself great now Instead of going to Australia I have to go to a stupid cranberry farm in New Jersey. I started crying, ran to the garage got my bike and yelled," MOM DAD I'M GOING OUT!" Before they could say anything I already got out of the drive way. I rode and rode till I got to my secret hiding space that only my friends and I knew about.
It was beautiful; it is inside one of the nearby waterfalls behind the water in a small cave that my friends and I had discovered about a year ago. I sat down in a corner for about 5 minutes when suddenly Emily walked in. I was still crying and now in shock to see her. She seemed distracted. She sat down and for the first time noticed I was here. "Hello Yumiko it is nice to see you here", she said in a soft confused voice.
I replied softly by saying "Oh hi Emily it is nice to see you as well what are you doing out here?" She said nothing. I was wondering what in the world could make a hyperactive loud outgoing person like Emily suddenly become a sad quiet shy person.
She finally replied, "I don't want to talk about it sorry what about you, why are you here?" I was instantly silenced for a couple of seconds she stared at me, I stared at the ground and replied unwillingly," I w-well have to g-go t-to New Jersey for the r-rest
Of the S-Summer." I could tell she was utterly and completely shocked. She instantly started to raise her voice in shock and said," W-what n-n-no this was sup--- I cut her off and said," I know our last part of summer I know we had plans to go shopping and to the fair but my parents decided different and I haven't seen my cousins and or my Aunt and Uncle in like 3 years and well… I'm not happy about it either I'm sorry I know you were looking forward to it... so was I we're leaving on Tomorrow just incase you want to come say bye." She gave me a hug and said," I'm sorry I was being selfish I will miss you and of course I will come tomorrow I was just a little disappointed that's all." "It's all right I'll end up goofing off if you come" I replied,"We're leaving at 3:00 P.M. so be at my house at 2:30 or 2:00 if you want" I said quietly. I dried my tears and got up when Emily suddenly yelled," WAIT can I ride with you to your house Yumi?"(Yumiko is my real name Yumi is my nickname) "Sure."I said we rode to my house Emily left and I started to pack. My Mom came in my room and asked politely," Where did you go Honey?" "I hung out with Emily Mom" I Replied "Finnish Packing it's getting late you need rest for tomorrow". So I got done with my packing & fell asleep.
